What travellers are saying
- R3020UBdb104 contributionsSo much information in a small space! Even some hands-on learning tools (for all ages). Short informative films. And friendly staff!Written 18 March 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Rita SMelbourne, FL1,833 contributionsWell maintained, well used park. Walking path, green area, playgrounds, shade trees, pavilions, picnic tables, restrooms. Nice location to watch sunset — long pier. Yoga offered in park. Extremely limited parking. Some metered parking slots.Written 4 August 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- pfefmeisterSan Francisco, CA3,043 contributionsMelbourne Beach is one sleepy town. The beach itself is rough surf and dangerous rip currents. There are three or four restaurants and that’s it. Bring lots of books if here for awhile. That being said, cool pier will take up 30 minutes or so. Nice neighborhoods to walk through with little traffic. Great place if you want quiet time.Written 2 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Jeanne HWoodstock, VA135 contributionsNice small park with gravel/grass trails. Bring fish food for fish and turtles in pond. Nice gazebo and bridge on pond. Several picnic tables.Written 3 November 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- mjcorMalabar, FL213 contributionsOff A1A and south of Melbourne, FL on the way to Sebastian, this city park is situated on the beach. First off, there is plenty of parking. Second, clean and well appointed bathrooms allows for a shower and bathing suit changes. Third, outdoor showers to rinse sand as salt from everything. Then you get to the boardwalk. Nice, broad wooden ramp to allow wheelchairs, fishing carts etc., access to the beach without hassle. And the view is just stunning when the sun is up. You can clearly see different shades of green and blue water with birds all over the place. Hungry? No problem. "Billy's" mobile eatery serves excellent food right there. We have yet to see the beach dirty. It is a safe environment for families with a few gazebo's to rent for a special event. Hats off to the city's Parks Department!Written 16 March 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Ward DSatellite Beach, FL2,833 contributionsThis is located on the East side of A1A about a half mile south of the Village of Tramore. It is hard to miss as it has a large life-size sculpture of Juan Ponce De Leon located on the road side of the parking lot and facing the water on a pedestal about 3 feet tall. There is a plaque behind the statue. It has one entrance off the road on the south end of the park. There are about 40 parking spaces for cars. A building with bathrooms is located on the beach side of the parking lot. The bathroom was a little messy but not bad for being used by many people. There are two entrances to the beach. The one to the north is the ramp and the one to the south is just stairs. The beach is excellent with a fairly wide beach. The beach was about 50-75 feet wide at low tide and looked to be about 30 feet at high tide. It did not seem very crowded when we visited and seemed fairly far from major population centers that would make it a busy spot. I would definitely recommend this as a good beach for any visitors to the area or long time residents.Written 20 September 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Jan GGrand Haven, MI324 contributionsPlenty of parking, well maintained access to the beach in two spots. This is a lovely, uncrowded beach. We enjoyed walking the beach in both directions.Written 1 May 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Samantha JCincinnati, OH436 contributionsThis is such a highlight event of the trip! We signed up with the organization on a turtle night walk for late July.
The ladies gave a very thorough evening education session of the types of turtles in the area. They had spotters find a loggerhead turtle that was currently nesting and we were able to walk out on the beach to watch her during this process. Now this is never a guarantee that they will find a nest for us to watch during the night but we sure appreciate it when they do. Turtles are truly mysterious creatures and such a wonder to watch in their natural habitat. The ladies did such a great job educating her and creating opportunities for us to watch this wonderful process.
Thank you and will definitely be returning with friends.Written 16 August 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. There is plenty of parking in the Juan Ponce park and a walkway across the road to the Sanctuary. The park is an easy stroll through several standard Florida biomes to include scrub, hammock and River areas. It starts and ends on sand pathways that lead away from the road toward the river. Several of the trail-side signs are missing. The post is there but there is nothing on them. This sand and scrub area do not have much shade so bring hydration and wear a hat. This area leads into several cooler areas with tree covered walking areas and boardwalks. One trail leads to a small dock on the river with elevation and a very nice view. The end of the trail leads back to the southern entrance off of A1A across from a beach entrance. On our trip we saw a turtle and a snake. There are several areas that have signs for alligators. The entire trip took about an hour and was very pleasant and worth the visit. This is a good example of Florida walking trails and worth a visit.Written 19 September 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - CodyDCWashington DC, DC5,937 contributionsWhile staying in Melbourne Beach, we played golf at the course as it was nearby our place. The course seemed to be nice and nice scenery along the riverside of the course. The course has some narrow fairways and several water hazards in play. Unfortunately, the day we played, it was unusually cold and very windy conditions. Even the volunteers at the golf carts said they would have skipped playing that day. Anyways, I did like the course, it is not a full course but much better than a par 3 course. We wanted to play it again in better weather conditions, but the tee times were booked a couple days in advanced, so could not experience it again until our next trip back to FLWritten 2 January 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Edward ONew Bern, NC2,785 contributionsThis park is well out of the way and a hidden secret. There is a small bathroom to use. The parking lot is gravel but the beach is fantastic and obviously a good fishing spot.Written 16 April 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - CodyDCWashington DC, DC5,937 contributionsFirst time playing on the course, was hesitant based on some of the reviews and being a short course, but decided to give it a try and something different than the other courses I've been playing in Melbourne area. When I played the course was not crowded, felt like I had the whole course to myself. The conditions were not too bad considering it was end of summer. There were some challenging or interesting holes, especially if you play from the back tees. I like how the course goes into the nature reserve, the course is not a completely flat course like Cranes Creek, there are some rolling mini bumps on the fairway and around the greens. All in all, had a good time and would play the course again next time visiting MLB.Written 20 October 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
