The rooms being empty was surprisingly effective, and enabled a close up view of the carving etc.The hologram owl on the top floor was great fun!.
Also enjoyed looking at he artisan workshops on site (very tempted by a beautiful Windsor chair) and the NT second hand book shop.

Great climb to the top of this iconic 'bump' reveals the ancient remains of this church with the most fantastic views across the Somerset levels, well worth the effort
It is a bit of a steep walk up the "Mump" but if you make the effort you will be rewarded with wonderful views across the Somerset Levels as well as a very interesting ruined church and war memorial.

This was a most enjoyable few hours in the late summer sunshine with beautiful and interesting gardens, views and history and delicious food in the smart cafe with ample seating outside and some seating inside.
The parkland was an added bonus as the dogs could run free and stretch there legs, it was fantastic, the best NT site I know for being dog friendly!
