The Sunday evening- bongo drums at sunset is wonderful experience - but parking is extremely challenging - you have to get there by 4:00 pm to park for the 6:30 pm sunset!
It also provides easy walking access southward to Stump Pass State Park if the small parking lot there is full (which is always likely).

The rookery is close by for nature photographers to enjoy the new hatchlings every year.
However, once you drive off the main road, there's a small park area with a small island where the birds come in every night to nest.
