We hiked a good portion of the Tomales Point Trail on our visit to Point Reyes. It is a little bit of a drive out to Tomales Point, but the drive is scenic and the hike itself was beautiful. The wildflowers were in bloom when we visited and the views of the bluffs and the Pacific Ocean are gorgeous. We were also able to see wildlife. We saw cows as there are dairy farms in this area, but as far as wildlife we saw elk, birds, a weasel, and coyotes. The hike is moderate in difficulty. I highly recommend a visit to Tomales Point if you visit Point Reyes.

Fantastic beach on beautiful, calm Tomales Bay in Point Reyes National Park, with what seems its own warm micro-climate. Great for swimming, playing and walking on the beach with a good picnic area, with BBQs and long benches available. You pay by credit card by the car, $8 or $7 for Seniors. Lovely place, and would love to return.

We had a great visit to the Heidrun Meadery yesterday. Michael and Savanah were wonderful. We enjoyed the tour of how the mead is made, and especially the bottling part. The drink is unique.

Such a fun experience cheese tasting on the dairy farm with the bovine so close by. We were even luck enough to play with a calf during our experience. The cheese plate itself is fun and flavorful and they also have a small menu you can order from. We had the grilled cheese ( so good) and the locally produced charcuterie. Loved it all especially the views.

We were not told until we arrived but you can bring your own beer and wine. There is a $20.00 corkage fee.

Our company chose Marconi for a work teambuilding offsite. We have team members from the US and Europe. The accommodations are slightly rustic, but clean and spacious. The Europeans loved the natural setting, wildlife, and hiking trails, and everyone loved the farm-to-table menus. The food really was outstanding. The staff at Marconi worked with us to ensure we had adequate space and equipment for our two days of activities, both in meeting rooms and in a field outside.

The setting is not rough terrain, but definitely bring comfortable walking shoes or boots. It was a little rainy while we were there, and some areas were pretty muddy. All meals are served in a main dining hall at set times of day. The dining hall is located at the top of a pretty steep hill. Our group is very fit, but I'm sure the staff would have used one of the many golf carts to whisk anyone up the hill who needed assistance. During our stay the area was pummeled by high wind storms. A couple of trees fell down (no one was hurt), and we lost power for several hours. Luckily, power was restored around midnight, and the staff provided lanterns and good humor so the time was easily passed.

Overall a great place for a family or business group event, bear in mind the total number of rooms available (about 35). If for a family event, you could easily sleep 3 in many of the rooms. We didn't take advantage of any activity options away from the property, but there seem to be many. We did make sure we stopped to try some artisan cheese before leaving the area.

    Highly recommend. :)

Enjoyed the staff and the conversation with others in the tasting room. They were not pouring several varietals the day we were there, and that was disappointing. We were told "They told us not to pour those today" weird. Overall, I'd like to stop in again and try some of the cabs and Syrah.

Being able to ride beautifully trained, fit horses that are responsive along fabulous trails through a variety of terrain is a horse riders dream: PRAA delivers all.
I ride all over the world but when I am home I try to get out and ride these horses. While I ride English and am quite experienced, Suzie can accommodate western riders too. She not only offers trail rides to intermediate and advanced riders she also teaches.

We had the most incredible Safari with Daniel. We opted for the half-day safari and it was worth every penny! Daniel will pick you up and take you to the Point Reyes National Seashore to see the most amazing wildlife. He asks who you want to see most and tries his best to make sure you see that animal. I am a bird nerd and Daniel checked off one of my bucket list animals - the great horned owl.
He provides binoculars and a spotting scope and is incredibly knowledgeable about the animals in the park. Daniel is a kind and warm man who cares deeply about wildlife and your ability to see and enjoy them up close, but at a safe distance. We are still buzzing with excitement from our safari last week. I can't recommend this excursion enough. We saw:
    Tule Elk
    Coyote
    Bobcat
    Kestrel
    Great horned owl
    Short eared owl
    Northern harrier
    GBH hunting gophers
    Red shouldered hawk
    Red tailed hawk
    Dark morph red tailed hawk
    White tailed kite
    Quail
    Scrub jays
    Brewers blackbird
    Red winged blackbird
    Western blue bird
    Acorn woodpecker
    Meadow lark
    Northern flicker
    Mallard
    Yellow Legs
    Bufflehead
    Ruddy duck
    Raven
    Crow
    Turkey vulture
    Whales!

Cool place to stop in and stretch your legs. An open barn area feed shop with a small gift shop to browse. There is a small cafe (have your latte here).
The gift shop has interesting items that are local to the area.

Casey was an absolute jewel! It felt like a smart, funny friend took us to lunch (2 lunches, to be honest!) I learned more about oysters, sustainable agriculture and history all in a few hours. Wish we had time to do the cheese tour as well, I'm sure it would've been amazing.

We not only had a productive day, we had an OUTSTANDING day. Our guide was Frank Binney and he is amazing! Seeing 3 bobcats in one day is something that doesn’t happen very often. In addition, we saw 5 coyotes, a covey of quail, two bunnies, a family of river otters, two great horned owls, a marsh harrier couple making a nest and elephant seals. Totally great day. Frank is so informative, personable and gave us great insight into the history of the area, habit of the wildlife and too much more to mention. Please give our thanks to Frank for a memorable day!
I highly recommend this adventure....you won't regret it.

We (3 adults) did the Drake’s Estero Half Day tour with Jeff and Kari in mid-October and had a fantastic experience. We got very lucky and had great conditions: overcast but not cold and no wind. The water was completely still and we could easily see into it, so we were able to see leopard sharks and a moon snail. These conditions also made for easy paddling.

Though we were experienced kayakers, most of the people in our group had little to no experience. Hence, Jeff and Kari were very thorough at the beginning; they demonstrated basic paddling techniques and positions and made sure everyone’s gear and kayak were setup correctly. During the tour, they managed the group well, helping out as needed and including a short break on a shore so people could stretch their legs and relieve themselves. Jeff was very knowledgeable and shared lots of interesting information about the history of the area and local flora and fauna.

Both tandem and single kayaks were available. They also provided waterproof jackets, kayak spray skirts, and dry bags. Bring your own water and snacks.

We've worked with Brett for many years, and he's taken us on countless sailing trips around Tomales Bay, often to support our river otter work. Brett's easygoing, friendly and attentive nature are a delight, and his knowledge of natural history, sailing and our local communities is unsurpassed. Thanks for your wonderful work, Brett!
