Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What travellers are saying
- Adrienne CNew York City, NY595 contributionsWe came here bright and early to kick off our first day in Monterey. It was cloudy and misty but still fun to walk around and take in the views. Climbing the rocks is a lot of fun too!Written 22 January 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- ColoradoMtsLafayette, CO164 contributionsThe best beach walk in Pacific Grove. Beaches to dip your feet into the sand and water. The beach at the south end is great for boogie boarding and cooling off. Busy on weekends.Written 30 June 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - JJJC_FamilyVirginia794 contributionsWe came on a Friday, but unbeknownst to us, it is only open weekends. Actually, we tried a variety of ways to see as much of it as we could and it looked like a cute little lighthouse. We also walked to take a look at the little golf course that sort of wrapped around it, 10th Tee, I think it was called. A bit ragged, but strangely, if I were to be interested in trying a round of golf, I think it would be there. It’s a poor man’s Pebble Beach. If and when we return to the area, we probably will try to come back here. Why? I am not certain. But I think I would.Written 13 December 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- 27worldtravelerLafayette, CA200 contributionsSuch a beautiful accessible coast! The view changes every minute with the surf hitting the rocks. There are benches and trail to have a clear view of the sun slipping into the ocean. It can be windy. Parking available right next to paths. We were there in February so not as crowded as it could be.Written 6 February 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Valerie GNorth Port, FL324 contributionsReally enjoyed walking the seaside here, seeing the different plants, sea creatures and squirrels. A sweet little place for couples to take a walk in the afternoon if staying in the area. We loved staying at Lovers Inn right near here. Would definitely come back to this area in the future.Written 22 February 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Jaskel08California382 contributionsThis was really interesting. Peak butterfly season is November and December….. weather pending. We were there in mid-February. There were still some butterflies out but not as many as I would like. There was a volunteer docent from the museum who was gracious in answering everyone’s question and pointing out where the butterflies are.
Entrance is free. The park isn’t that large….. and nor is the parking lot. However, parking is available on the street. Public bathrooms are available.
Definitely recommend bringing binoculars. Also, you may want to call in advance to make sure they are out and about.Written 22 February 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Breath taking place. Wow. When I saw pictures of this place I was unimpressed. Then I dropped by, Wow. Pictures do not do this place any justice. You just need to see this place to really appreciate its name and enjoy the beauty in the surroundings.
A very small park but packed with Love.

- Nathan NLehi3 contributionsThis is a simple plaque honoring one of the best musicians of the 20th century. The beach this monument graces is just beautiful. I wish I could say the same about the plaque. It is very difficult to read and was placed in a section that doesn't really stand out to passers-by. I took several photos and the one attached is edited so it's a bit easier to read the text.Written 4 February 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - 0221SerendipityMadison, WI1,005 contributionsAs big fans of Farmer's Markets we jumped at the chance to visit this market in Monterey. We were impressed by the large selection of not only fruits and vegetables but many gourmet foods as well. An excellent stop for tourists.Written 14 July 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- WillieMacfanHealdsburg, CA990 contributionsGreat natural setting. From the walkway above the beach you can view the lounging seals and their newborn pups. Educational opportunity for kids!. On Monterey Bay , this is a fairly protected cove.Written 5 May 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
