Mummy is the best ride. The speed, the dips—awesome. The surprise backwards roller coaster! The backlot tour is interesting and is also a nice break for when your feet need a break because you ride the entire 1 hour tour.

You literally think you’re on the movie set here. There is something to see in every part of the long line so that it doesn’t seem like you’re waiting forever.

A great place to hike. This was my second visit. It gets busy on weekends. Last time I was here on a Tuesday. It is a fairly flat and easy hike to the caves. The Bat Cave is there. It was used for many movies and Tv shows.

Not for the faint of heart, or faint of digestive juices. $17 entry fee seemed a bit steep initially, but while it's small, they pack a lot of bang for the buck in each small room, and it starts strong with the serial killers room (I didn't care however for the crass homophobic A-Z serial killer poems, though clearly from another era). I wasn't a fool and kept my phone concealed because dems the rules, but I did sneak a few photos of the shrunken heads, though the photos were fully blocked by the lining of my pants pocket.

I was probably the only person there without goth/metal/punk attire, or a passion or even passing interest for true crime, cults or dead people. But if you have a crush on Charles Manson, morbid fascinations or are just a little sick in the head, this place will leave you happier than a pig in mud. You can watch live surgery and embalming on 1970s educational videos, look at gruesome crime scene photos and read about interesting patents for casket technology, my favorite of which was hands-down the anti-grave robber underground casket torpedo.

After about 90 minutes of engorging my brain with bloody atrocities, sliced open human guts and some very cute Victorian child coffins, I left so dizzy and bewildered that I immediately stumbled from this museum onto a Hollywood celebrity tour, which was a pleasant reminder that someday they will also die. Would not do again but someday I will enthusiastically recommend this to my future 22-year old deadbeat son to get rid of him for a while.

I wouldn’t exactly call this a tourist attraction, but it is a very interesting and odd local site to see. It is fenced off and does appear to be illegal to enter, so be aware and enter at your own risk!

Supposedly, back in the 20’s, a fancy neighborhood slid off into the sea...these are the remnants. There’s plenty of street parking all around Point Fermin, which is nice in and of itself! Lots of shade and picnic tables along the cliff that overlooks the Pacific Ocean...and you can often see sea lions down on the rocks! There’s even a lighthouse museum.

The sunken city is pretty cool to take a quick glimpse of and grab some pics. There were a lot of people walking around the ruins and skateboarding and hanging out...but I wouldn’t risk it...I think the fine is something like over $400 if you get caught, but don’t quote me on that. We ran in, took some fast pics from up above, and ran out lol!

There are a couple of spots to squeeze through the fence, but they’re pretty narrow...there’s one really large opening much further down...you’ll find it easily if you walk past Point Fermin park and take Shepard St down to S Carolina Place and walk to the fencing...once you hit the fence, walk to your left and you’ll see it.

The Hollywood sign hike and comedy tour was so cool. Joe our tour guide was brilliant, super friendly, and made an effort to make sure everyone was having a great time. He also gave great photo tips, and took loads of photos for us. Overall we really enjoyed the experience and I wish Joe all the best😀

After spending nearly 8 hours traveling to LA, the last thing I expected my partner and I to enjoy was a 3+ hours hike up a mountain, but it turned out to be the perfect break between the crush and rush of airport travel and the conference that brought us to LA. It's a credit to the majesty of Griffith Park that the hours felt like they went by *too* fast and we finished the hike wishing we had more time to explore the trails. Griffith Park's beauty -- the vistas, birdwatching opportunities, and desert flora -- was a wonderful way to begin our time in LA.
Making the experience even better was our guide, George, whose positivity kept our group's energy and spirits up. Radiating good vibes and cheer while espousing his love for LA and its history, George made an already memorable experience even better. Our entire party was out-of-towners, and between trivia about the park and LA, he also provided suggestions for eateries, bars, and entertainment near our conference.
10/10 - Go hike up a mountain with George! You won't regret it.
