ALIVE. This place is definitely alive. It was full of vendors and storefronts. Definitely a place to see. I love the rental bikes (through Lyft and other services) and the bike lanes. We were able to bike from Venice Beach to Santa Monica pier!

It’s mostly quite tacky but it’s fun nevertheless. You see all walks of life when you walk here. From cool street bands to many many crazy people doing weird things. Fewer bars and restaurants than you might think.

This beach is just minutes from the main LAX rental car return areas, and so is a great place to stop on your way to the airport if you want a last LA beach experience. Plenty of paid parking, and easy ocean access.

While on business in California my daughter we who lives there spent some time in LA so a beach stop was definitely on our agenda.

Will Rogers Beach is very clean and it was the time of year that the sand was not hot and the water was pretty chilly but not frigid however. We went wading a short distance out but a small group was swimming and two young gentlemen were surfing. In my almost 50 years of life I have visited the North and South Atlantic, from Maine to Florida, the Gulf Coast Waters from Florida to Texas and the Pacific in LA, San Francisco, San Diego, Tijuana and Acapulco but this was a first to actually see someone surfing in person so that was cool. There was a pretty large crowd gathered that day, but not too crowded. The waters were very pleasant and the outside temp of around 80 was near perfect.

I had been reading online about beaches that were completely free, however don't trust everything you read online. They have a gentleman stationed there that must collect 7 dollars from you for parking. We didn't have more time to stop but a short ways at the pier is a small amusement park with a Ferris Wheel, some roller coasters anong other attractions. I guess what Coney Island is to the big apple this is to the Pacific ocean. Good beach to visit when you visit the city of angels the next time!

Guy trip one of the stops. Tried to bay but could not get parking machine to work. Some people walking some people fishing and we were just looking. Drove to the end of the Jetty where the ships must have tied up for Fort

Not cold and not hot - interesting to see. Stayed in the parking area and did not walk to the end. Lifeguard on duty in one of the shacks.

Interesting to see, to bad they did not have a history sign for you to understand the background.

95% of the time this is an amazing place, just like the other reviews state. If you are a family, you will have a blast! There is so much to explore. Be careful with the current if you want to snorkel around the perimeter of the reef. The waves kick up a lot of sand, so visibility isn't great either. As for Surfing, it can be beginner to intermediate. On a good day the waves are excellent, however, then you have to contend with the locals who say it is their beach. Just disregard them and enjoy if you can, I'm a local and they argue that I wasn't born here so I can't surf here...lol! Who is born on the beach might I ask?

Great place to visit and so much going on around here. It was buzzing and is a very different feel to Santa Monica only circa 2 miles away!

Lots of bars and restaurants along with street entertainment. Would definitely recommend.
