First time in Highland Park. Heard a lot about the area. Its easy to like. More relaxed and - dare I say - a bit more hip than the more commonly thought of hip parts of LA like Venice and Silver Lake. Highland Brewery beckoned. A line of people didn’t put me off. Covid rules apply and everyone was happy to oblige. A pint of MADEWEST Pale Ale was the perfect first beer of the day. And the burger was spot on. Sat in the car park under a marquee, even on a breezy day was a complete joy.

Great beer (try a cask). Great food. Kid friendly. Pet friendly. Darts. Designated drivers drink not-alcohol free. Beer floats. You heard me.

We're still in the C19 pandemic and luckily they have a large outdoor patio area that's partially covered so we don't burn from the sun. We were riding our bicycles along the LA River and pulled over to enjoy a beer. It was Easter Sunday and we were glad they were open and we didn't have to wait to be seated. The beer is a bit pricey but it sure delivers a punch if you order an IPA.

You've got to go here, it is the best kept secret in the Arts district. The staff, vendors, and people that go there are always super friendly and nice. There beers are top-notch with unique combinations you can't find elsewhere. The owners seem to be always present and are super passionate about their beers. One of my favorite things are the vendors they bring in for events and on certain days. The food is always amazing, like these huge pretzels, barbecue ribs, tacos, and coffees. I think this is the best place to experience everything LA has to offer. It's still young and I'm so excited for what it will become for the community. Such a cool spot.

With a name like this I had to visit. NSA IPA was a black IPA and pretty good. Cymbo and Vauxhall Cross also. Lucador and Echelon are their standards, but the ABV was too much for me on the day I visited. So I will have to go back for those. Great location near downtown and a brewery with a great vibe and interesting artwork. Friendly staff, not particularly busy on the weekend. Street parking. Worth a visit. Btw, Wiretap got its name from the owners who were involved in comms and Internet service. I am sure there is more to this story, but without a FISA (Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act) warrant, we’ll probably never know for sure.

Arts District brewery and hangout spot. This is a good spot to come to for a big group hangout or for celebrating birthdays. There’s a lot of indoor tables but they fill up super quickly on weekends. You can’t bring outside drinks, but you can bring outside food. There’s usually a taco truck or two outside within a block, so I like getting carne asada fries to have as a snack. There’s usually a good truck inside too but the tacos are double the price of what you can get outside. They have quite an assortment of beers and even have a hard seltzer for gluten-free people. There’s a flight option you can get to sample different ones and is good for first-timers.

There’s also indoor corn hole so there’s plenty of things to do to have a chill afternoon or evening. There’s no WiFi and they take credit cards. The bathrooms are in the main room to the right hand side. There’s also self-service water, and they have still and sparkling options.

One of, if not the best saison/farmhouse ale in the South Bay.
I always keep my eyes open for breweries that have a good farmhouse ale/saison. They've been perfecting theirs for the better part of a decade and it's good! It has a fruity, creamy and herbal palate, best served either at room temperature or ice cold!

    Service: quick and engaging
Atmosphere: long bench tables, indoor and outdoor seating, music, food trucks
    Dogs: Okay!

They do 4 packs-to- go and can ship anywhere in CA!

Large place with indoor and outdoor seating. Large amount of craft beer selection and wine list. Upgrade pub grab and very delicious. The brisket sliders are yummy and so are the pork tacos, in fact ordered the tacos twice. Two pool tables and shuffle board available. Also there appears to be an upstair area. Only small issue is the lack of help which it seems every business is having at the time.
