Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

My family and I saw the Sunday Company show and it was hilarious. My kids are 18-22, so the content was fine for them, though as a mom, I did cringe in a couple of places! There isn't a bad seat in the house, so no need to rush into the room when the doors open and trample one another. I loved that there was no drink minimum, which is really why I purchased tickets initially, but this ended up being the perfect show for us. With intermission, the show ran about 3 hours, so be prepared for that. We found street parking fine just down the street from the theater.

A shout out to the band too! The music between sets was awesome!

Scot Nery is a genius and a star entertainer. The people he books for each show are unusual and fun. This is a show anyone and everyone would love. Guaranteed

The Hollywood Improv is a famed location for comedy in Los Angeles, opening in 1975. The club is fairly small, so it has an intimate feeling with lots of opportunities to make eye-contact and interact with the performer.

They require a 2 drink or food item minimum, so plan on spending an extra $40/person or so on top of the admission price. The food is just standard bar fare, but it was pretty decent. We each chose to have a drink and a dish and came out at $86 including tip.

We got to see Whitney Cummings, Anjelah Johnson, Zara Mizrahi, Brian Monarch, and one other comic on a Thursday night. The show was about 90 minutes long and we felt is was an enjoyable weeknight out!

The troupe were wonderful especially the stand out guy who played the children’s party clown who spoke Spanish, he also played the poop fairy in the final sketch which was gross but he committed fully. I heard funny remarks coming out of the show. People were going “wow. wow. wow. That was not what I expected” I think that’s the point of improv- you should have no expectations you just go with the flow. I’m not sure if those skits were fully scripted they seemed like they might be, but it was a great audience size and a nice vibe throughout the room. I will definitely be back.

I couldn’t quite believe I managed to get tickets for this after applying on the iota website. It’s a bit annoying having to queue up about 2 hrs before the show starts but everything was so well organised I didn’t mind at all. We waiting in line and then we were all given wristbands and the staff doing it were so friendly and chatty. We went through a small security and then into our seats. Loved the warm up guy, loved the band, we were constantly entertained. Jimmy was hilarious of course, and I was pleasantly surprised at how seamless everything was. No repeat takes needed for anything. Our guests were Rob McElhenney, John Stamos and Chris Stapleton, and we even got a free Christ Stapleton concert (the first use of the concert space since 2020). We got soooo lucky. Apply for tickets!

We went to Upright Citizens Brigade having booked a show called "Regifted" after Christmas and after reading the description. We took our 13 year daughter, who is no stranger to improv theater. We expected foul language, However, the sexual content of the show was not listed in the description as with other shows. That was a bit of a shocker. We did enjoy the show very much and found the improv abilities of the actors to be excellent. We may be interested in booking Master Improv Classes for a group of teens in the future through this theatre. Very entertaining, high quality fun for an inexpensive night out. There is an amazing book/records store next door to peruse before the show. Eat at "Birds" after your show! They are open late and have great reviews.

The Thursday night Improv Jams are the best in the city! Everyone gets to play and everyone feels accepted. House Sketch and Improv nights are great too - this is a place to keep your eye on!

I'm encouraged to write a review b/c this is hard to find on Tripadvisor and the last reviews are from awhile ago. I sought this out on our recent trip to LA b/c my kids (age 9, 11 & 13) love Whose Line is it Anyway and this was the only comedy club I found in LA that keeps it clean and is family friendly. The way it works is there's a "referree" who's the Master of Ceremonies and there are two teams of three people each. They compete in different games, winners based on audience applause. It's very interactive with them taking suggestions from the audience and getting audience members up on stage (including our teenage son which was quite a thrill). Small intimate theater. We prebought tickets online. We had the best time and will now seek out the Comedy Sportz in Chicago where we live so we can have this much fun again. Highly recommend!!

We went here for 2 Improv shows. Both groups were quite funny and both did a good job creating sketches with the random words that were thrown out. The theater is small so any seat is a good seat. I suggest you try to come on time (some people came in late) otherwise you miss the throw out word and the initial work that goes into thinking of sketch ideas.
