Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What travellers are saying
- Debora Simon15 contributionsI really liked Sosua Beach. The water was gorgeously blue, and the scenery was breathtaking. When it comes to hotels, there is a lot to choose from ranging from some that are pretty close to the beach to some that are a little farther away. As for the restaurants along the beach, they didn’t seem to offer much vegetarian options, and I rarely saw running water or stoves. I would recommend walking around the city and eating at one of those restaurants even if they might be a little further away from the beach. There were many gift shops, and there seemed to be a lot of activities to do such as diving and boat rentals. Overall, Sosua was a pretty nice beach for a nice vacation.Written 25 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Vitaly SRutherford, NJ59 contributionsThis place probably is the best beach in the area. Even that the access to the beach is not free but it is very secluded. The sand is clean and the access to the water is very safe without any stones.Written 30 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - PoloemmaHouston, TX2 contributionsWhat an amazing place the entrance costs 300 pesos per person and we were there for well over an hour. The views from the top of the highest turret were breathtaking. The art was eclectic some beautiful and some downright ugly but artistic all the same. Erotic religious creepy and colourful are words to describe the sculptures and paintings within. It’s a rabbit warren of rooms, corridors and endless sculptures. The only pity is that we were followed all over by the chap who let us in which was a little off putting plus they clearly aren’t fixing the building and the sculptures are showing damage. In fact everything is falling into disrepair which is sad the artist put hours into his creations which included his home the entrance fees should be put to some use. Well worth the visit.Written 16 November 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- linda l53 contributionsgood place for piece and quiet where you can usually swim if there is no swell. Great places to eat on the cliff (nicer then old sosua). Highly recommend. You can rent umbrellas and chairs there as well.Written 10 April 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Tom TCabarete, Dominican Republic8 contributionsLoved it, once they got their attractions going, but we had to wait over an hour after opening for many of the slides and attractions to open. In addition, some of the attractions require you to be totally dry, which seems odd for a water park, so bring a change of clothes if you want your children to enjoy all the park has to offer. A lot of fun once they wake up, but no fun waiting.Written 5 October 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Gordon CKirkland, Canada181 contributionsWe spent a whole afternoon here. Amazing pool, great service and plenty of lounging available.
Very interesting concept. You pay for entry and your food and drinks cone out of your entry fee. It is very big and the pool is massive.

They have so many different kinds of people in the congregation. People from Germany, Canada, United States, Haiti and the Dominican Republic and many others.

- GoldenTreasuresSosua, Dominican Republic174 contributionsLeo Diaz is a modern reflection of famous masters seen in major galleries, seen in his revealing strokes that transcend his own dimension. I purchased my first Leo Diaz several months ago and still wonder how the painting draws my attention each time I walk by it, even many months later. His gallery is probably the top one in Sosua, at least of all the ones lining up the street that leads to Sosua beach.Written 11 August 2015This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - A2CoxGarmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany91 contributionsI had a few minutes to kill, so went for a stroll and was fortunate in where my feet took me. A small but wonderful gallery with a dance studio above...the art being displayed by university students were quite impressive. If they were for sale, I would have purchased any one of the 20-something works of art. This is not unbelievable if you have seen street art throughout the country. Make a point of checking this place out.Written 10 October 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Departure666692935821 contributionMonday December 19th 2022. The girl with the approval of the male worker there with her at the time robbed me in my face and in face of my date and friends face of my wins.
I originally paid 500 pesos for coins which gives you a half container of coins and we went and played them and won enough coins to literally fill the same container up and went back to the window to cash them in and they dumped them in their counter and the girl literally tried to give me 450 pesos back.
So we contested and appealed to the male worker who acted unconcerned who recounted again the container at half full like we were stupid but ours was full full and after telling him and her that they were cheating us she finally gave us back the original 500 pesos after words but kept the winnings. BEWARE. You are totally at unfriendly cashiers mercy with your winnings. The machines are old. You play then you have to bring the chips to a actual person not a automated machine and trust that person to be honest when they are not which leads to massive theft from the company and destroyed trust in the integrity of the casino for the players. There is no way that a full container pays less than a half full under any mathematics.
If the owners check the cameras between the hours of 2:30--2:50 a.m. monday morning they will clearly see this transaction. Play at your own risk. They flat out in my face took my winnings. It's the principle that matters not the amount and depending on how often they are doing this they are making easy money from clients and the company and clients have no real defense.Written 20 December 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
