Golbert, our English speaking guide, made the Amazon come alive for us, he was incredibly knowledgeable about the local area, indigenous clans, animals, birds and insects. He accommodated our needs and was always willing to help. We liked the way he sat and ate with us as well, because this was also time he spent sharing his knowledge and letting us know what we would be doing next. The accommodation, the Marasha reserve and Açai cabins were great as was the food and activities. We also really liked they way they employed the local people as secondary guides. A totally unique and diverse experience that encompassed night safaris, zip wire, river trips on the Amazon, trekking, overnight camps, a visit to local market and a detailed introduction to cultures and customs of the region. - Ashley M1 contributionThis experience was amazing! It was fund getting to visit three countries the first day. Johnny was kind and was the best tour guide throughout the experience. It was great to hear his stories and knowledge throughout the hikes. Our favorite part was fishing for Piranhas!!! Staying in the locals village in both locations was incredible. - Melissa2 contributionsI had a very great tour with Oxigeno Amazonas. Karla was very nice and responded right away when I messaged asking about the tour. She also helped me a lot with other things I needed in Puerto Nariño. Romani was an extremely good guide, with a lot of knowledge of the jungle. He was aware of my level of Spanish and explained everything perfectly so I could understand. He taught me some new words too! I had a lot of fun and had great experiences. I met so many wonderful people in my group from all over the world that I still stay in touch with. We had grand adventures, saw lots of animals, the communities we stayed with were incredibly rich and kind people. 10/10 would recommend and can’t wait to return. - Olivia P8 contributionsEarlier this week my mum and I did the x3 day / x2 night tour with Diego’s company, and we also booked an additional night to stay in Puerto Nariño after the tour had finished.
The tour was absolutely incredible and I would highly recommend this tour company to anyone who is looking for a true Amazonian adventure and jungle experience. The tour was full of lots of activities including taking a boat to various different parts of the river and nearby lakes, hiking into different areas of the jungle, seeing so many wild animals in their natural habitat, meeting indigenous communities, eating local Amazonian dishes and more. It’s a very active tour and you’re so immersed into the jungle the whole time.
We also opted to do the night sleeping in the jungle - this was a totally surreal and unique experience that I will never forget and I can’t think of a time when I’ve been so close to nature.
We went for the English-speaking tour and Diego organised translators for the first two days - Alejandro and Andrea - both of whom were brilliant and did a fantastic job of showing and telling us so much about the Amazon and life that exists here. Diego took us round on the final day and was also there throughout making sure that we knew what we were doing and where we were going at all times and met us at the restaurants for lunch and dinner. I also have to mention Diomides who was also with us for the night in the jungle - he was an excellent guide for the night time and it was fascinating to spend time with him and hear his about his life and tales of the jungle.
Overall, I couldn’t recommend this tour, Diego and all of the wonderful people who were part of it, any more. This was my first experience of the Amazon (and the beginning of my first trip to South America!) and I am very keen to come back and revisit the region. Everything was perfect from start to finish, our guide Alcibiades was just amazing as were Anderson and El Capitan. Probably one of the best things I've ever done in my life are swimming in the Amazon at sunset and sleeping in a hammock in the jungle. - Jonathan B1 contributionWe had a brilliant experience with Amazon Tour Connections. Everything was organised so seamlessly from pick up and drop off times to lunch to any equipment that we needed for specific excursions. The guides were all lovely and so knowledgeable about both the local nature and the communities living there. We saw every single animal that we had on our list and were often taken to spots with zero other tourists or before larger groups descended so we really got some great time alone, especially with the pink dolphins! If you're doing activities like night cruises of the Amazon River/Jungle, you want the assurance of being with people who really know what they're doing, and these guys did. I never once felt in danger or that something could go wrong or that we would be stranded without help etc. They come prepared and are experienced enough to deal with any issues without any stress. The entire time we were learning about all the animal species and plants and the Amazon myths and legends. My parents don't like to much hostels in South America, but this hostel has be a gem during our travel, recommended by my best friend I decided to book it and my parents were absolutely happy with the service and facilities. Activities, guides, food and hotels were amazing and the agency took into account our requests.

I was one of the lucky participants to be on Dan's first group tour in Colombia for two weeks of adventure packed travel. The trip touched upon some of the country's most diverse landscapes and relied upon vetted, local guides that provided the knowledge (and the fun) to deem them invaluable. Our local accommodations were also unique gems that revealed the charm and spirit of their proprietors and made us feel safe and at home.
After falling in love with the graffiti art in Bogota, we headed to the depths of the Amazonas, where pink dolphins swam in the river, indigenous rituals were shared and Monkey Island welcomed us. Then it was off to the Andes to summit Santa Isabel with her 16k' glacial peak and a view of the world below. We ended our journey on the laid back currents of the Caribbean Coast with time to hike in the national park, tube down a lazy river and to reflect on the raw beauty that Colombia offers.
Our group was as diverse as the terrain and it was remarkable to watch Dan play the role of not just my tour guide, but also curious explorer, loyal cheer leader, handy barman, creative problem solver, pied piper, and patient friend! I would follow this guy anywhere and encourage others to give him a chance to share his dream with you. I went for 5 days and enjoyed every single one of them. One thing I would say: make sure you have your mosquito repellent and are dressed correctly. I bought these items on a whim and am so grateful I did.
