I was with a 5yo daughter and bff. It was a perfect time. A lot of activities: jungle walking, night walks, sleeping in the jungle (woken up by monkeys), watching pink dolphins, fishing the Amazon, night trips down the river.
Still, we had a lot of time to chill and enjoy just being there, swinging in the hammocks.
Great, simple and tasty food, there was no problem with vegan diet.
We stayed at the Ticuna village at Peru side of the river, and got a very warm welcome.
Tomás is a great guide, he took care of everything. For example he organised for us to come back from the camp in the jungle in case my daughter wouldn't like to stay there all night. I didn't ask for that, still, he prepared it all. Instead she enjoyed it a lot, and there was no need for the two of us to come back to the village.
Tomás has an incredible knowledge, we were shown and told about so many species of animals and trees, as well as about herbs and poisonous plants.
He also told us great stories - local legends, beliefs and traditions.
I loved also the respect for the ambient - he wanted to show us animals in their natural habitat, so there were no semi domesticated monkeys or touching sloths.
Tomas speaks English, Spanish, Portuguese and several other languages. 🙂 and has a great sense of humour.
I have fallen in love with the jungle and the people that we met there.
For sure we will come back, but this time will stay much longer than only 5 days.
