Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What travellers are saying
- LexiesAmsterdam, The Netherlands15 contributionsAbsolutely stunning caves! Would have loved to see a ballet or concert in the caves. This is nature at its best, and good for imagining how our ancestors lived.
We were in doubt if we should bring my not so mobile dad. And he would have loved it, but there are, as warned, quite some stairs.Written 31 October 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The Balcony of Europe is Nerja’s second top attraction and has magnificent views of the coast of Nerja. From here to the west there is a coastal path which takes you past many of Nerja’s picturesque beaches. The Balcony of Europe is located near the Salvador Square where many eateries and the Iglesia El Salvador are located. Nerja is an up and coming tourist destination which boasts a very picturesque coast and some historic attractions, it is well worth the visit, as well as the picturesque little hillside village of Frigiliana which boast grand views and pretty narrow streets.Written 23 October 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - TinaRedcar, UK956 contributionsVery well appointed & looked after beach. Lovely palm tree lined prom, lots of restaurants, clean public toilets, shops close by & plenty of loungers. The beach is extensive but does goes very busy. We fortunately arrived early and was able to get loungers. However, all the loungers at the front were reserved. An an hour or so after we arrived there wasn’t a lounger to be had. Really loved the beach though, a great holiday beach with everything on hand, just make sure you get there early if you want a lounger!Written 22 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Ed E7 contributionsGreat experience, pretty unusual in that you're walking through a river upstream. Very beautiful.
It's a long walk to the waterfall if you want to go all the way in. Bring lots of water and some food. Allow 4-6 hour depending on how hard you want to go and how much time you want to stop and chill out for.
Probably not suitable for those with reduced mobility.Written 12 July 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews. - phat_dawg_21Alpharetta, GA17,382 contributions
The white sand beach is to the east off Balcon de Europe. It is the prettiest unban beach we saw during our trip. Getting down to it from the town takes some exercise.Written 21 August 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. highly recommend 10/10Written 19 October 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews. - Off their PManchester, UK4,028 contributionsIf you want to central for beach as you haven’t got a car and something a bit quieter than this could be a place.
It is only very small but Central and, as you expect, very beautiful. The water is calm and there are far less people here than most of the beaches around.
The compromise to this is that it is a little bit difficult to get to and has less facilities than most of the beaches. This makes it ideal for a couple of hours with your towel and your book rather than alongStay with sun loungers, restaurants and so on.Written 9 September 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - GoingGuideNottingham, UK2,458 contributionsWOW is the first thing you say when walking into the Church. Each of the chapels that surround the main nave are amazing in their own unique ways. The amount of effort and artistic skills that have been applied to each is breathtaking. Each has a message to portray. The crypt is so worth visiting too, telling the story of how the Church came to be as it is today. Then there is a very pleasant garden to sit down in and relax after an overwhelming experience of true Spanish Catholicism. Worth a visit if Spiritual or not.Written 21 October 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- georgedoullDundee, UK339 contributionsBus from centre of Nerja to market on outskirts. One euro. There in 10 mins or so.
Im not a fan of markets but enjoyed wandering round stalls in medium sized market. Wife bought a few things including tea leaves from a stall selling scores of different sorts. Seemed better quality than normal Spanish market.
No cafe but water/juice can be purchased. Worth a visit.Written 23 August 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
