We did the sunset experience and the hiking to the monasteries. Both activities were unforgettable experiences with guides that had a lot of knowledge about the area, the traditions, the religious celebrations, the architecture …. We had fun and we learned so much and certainly would not have the same relaxing experience if we did the visit by ourselves.

This a wonderful museum to visit while in the Meteora region. Modern and with a focus on conservation. The upstairs mushroom museum area is incredible. Fun stop!

Among the many monasteries in the area, this monastery was included in our tour. While I’m not a religious man, the place was awe inspiring. Interesting how throughout its history of centuries, how it was built and maintained before roads were built.
Somehow I injured my forearm (not seriously) and one of the nuns saw the blood and the look on her face was of terror. Another nun brought a paper towel to blot the wound while a third nun sprayed the wound with hydrogen peroxide and betadine then covered with a dressing. I asked to leave a donation but she said, “no, no, no. Goodbye’ rather quickly.
The scenery was beautiful, looking out over Kalabaka. Time well spent.

From the 3 monasteries we visited this one was the most traditional and interesting one. It is not crowded and not touristic. You need to take steps down from the main road inside an amazing forest to reach the final steps up to the monastery. The staff is very kind and helpfull. The interior is very beautiful and very clean. The shop had the most amazing and beaautiful souvenirs of the area and we regret it that we didnt take more things from there is in the city of Kalampaka you do not find so beautiful souvenirs.
Is one of the highest recommended monasteries to visit.
The only negative which is found in all monasteries is the public bathroom which to tell the truth is broken and disgusting. No hygiene at all. Its a shame for a place like this, for a monastery that earns so much money for a religious place to have a bathroom worse than a third division football stadium.

This Museum is UNFORTUNATELY going to CLOSE down although the material it contains is only one tenth of the what is left in storage. It is one of the most enlightening visits to a museum which contains all the artefacts and original manuscripts of many Greek and French writers. The whole education systme in Greece can be seen through the prism of a visit. The most amazing manuscripts and writings of Aesop's fables were the crown jewel. Our gratitude to Katherina our guide who is passionate about the place and was able to convey all the knowledge to those interested. It was quite an experience to learn the interaction between the French Enlgihtment and its influence on the Greeks. Moreover, the Greeks were inspired by the French moneatry system and they used it. Hence we learn that one franc was equivalent to one drachma. The almost tow hours spent in this museum was worth every minute. It is devasting to learn that this museum is closed due to some property builders. All the material collected, and a lot has never been visible, and donated by a PATRON whose generosity and legacy will be lost.

Excellent 3 short films about Greece, Mount Olympus, the Meteora rocks and the monasteries. The 3-D experience really brings the area alive. There is an option to watch the films in Greek or English .it is a very comfortable viewing area, like a small cinema. The owner was very helpful. Fantastic value for money at just €3. Well worth a visit!

We rented a car to visit the monasteries - the kind lady running the shop was very helpful and explained everything to us, and even threw in a baby car seat for free. Good experience through and through - reasonable price, good service, no hidden costs. Very nice family business.

Panos gave us a wonderful tour of the monasteries and the sunset view point later in the day. Panos speak excellent English and the mercedes he drives is very clean and comfortable. Panos planned the personalized tour so that we could start early in the day at 8:30AM to avoid the crowds and visit four monasteries. As Kalambaka is home town of Panos, he knows all about the monasteries, their history as well as the geology of Meteora. Even though we were able to see a lot in a day, we never felt rushed and had enough time to make Meteora an unforgettable experience. Panos is very polite, down to earth and punctual. He promptly replied to the messages we exchanged on WhatsApp as we were planning our trip to Greece. Panos picked us up from the hotel promptly at the scheduled time, even recommended we should leave a little early for the sunset and suggested all the viewpoints from where to take the best pictures.

The tour was just amazing. We were picked up right from out accommodation and took on a beautiful morning forest hike, visiting some sights otherwise not reachable. At the end of the tour we visited the Monastery of the Great Meteoron and took a relaxing walk downhill to the village. Evan was extremely informative and entertaining. Our warmest recommendation!

We cannot rate our experience today higher than the exceptional service provided today by Vasilis & team.

They made our 1/2 day tour fun, informative & safe.

Vasilis & his wife are clearly passionate about their life work & getting people to cycle rather than bus or drive up the mountain. I was a little apprehensive before setting off, as the mountain roads are steep. This quickly disapated as our lovely guide (also called Vasilis), made regular stops to tell us more about the history of the monastic settlements & check we were all ok.

The monasteries & nunneries are very special places, but for me today was also very much about the journey, thank you for making it possible.

Even the fab granola snacks they brought for us as snacks were delicious.

Thoroughly recommend the trip, don’t take your car/bus, cycle up, you will enjoy it far more.

We had a wonderful private tour with Thanos. He took us to all the main sites and a ton of beautiful view spots. We learnt lots of interesting things during the tour, and had great conversations. Thanos was very flexible and accommodating to our wishes, which made our tour top notch. I warmly recommend this great experience to anyone visiting the region!

Writing a late review here, but flying with Lefteri and John was so much fun. Upon meeting them, they Immediately made you feel at ease, like you've been friends and have known each other for ages. Before flying, Lefteri went over all the safety instructions and explained the weather conditions. He made sure my friend and I understood every little detail and made sure we were comfortable to proceed. The day we flew wasn't the best day for flying but we waited a bit and enjoyed the view from our jump point. Eventually, the winds picked up and we were able to fly. Lefteri and John were clearly very passionate about flying. Thanks Lefteri and John for a great time!
