Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Excellent, well organised tour with perfect time keeping.
    Excellent tour guide and driver.
Our guide was extremely knowledgeable, friendly and a pleasure to spend the day with.
The tour itself provides the opportunity to see amazing views and scenery and it’s hard to believe what you are seeing.

In our opinion it is well worth taking this trip, you also get plenty of breaks for drinks etc but be mindful that it is a full day which is tiring.

I’m so happy I decided to go on the day trip to Meteora. I initially thought that one day would be too tiring and too rushed for a trip such as this but it wasn’t like that at all. The bus and bus ride were very comfortable - George our driver was excellent and the scenery beautiful. Maria our guide, who joined us in Kalabaka, was extremely knowledgeable with a bubbly personality which made her a joy to listen to. Our lunch in Kalakaua was tasty and generous and accommodated my vegetarian requirement easily. As for Meteora itself, all I can say is spectacular & breathtaking! I highly recommend this day trip and the team at MeteoraTrip.

Amazing tour. Very accommodating crew. Our tour guide, Katharina, was Knowledgeable and she explained everything throughout the route. I cannot recommend more. I don’t know how the other tours are, but if you have a chance, get the one with the Katrina being a guide.

I apologize for the lengthy review, but I truly feel I must share this with you.
As someone who prefers to explore at my own pace, I usually avoid guided tours. However, due to time constraints, I decided to make an exception and chose Visit Meteora based on their positive reviews. I booked a three-day trip from Athens for myself and my 19-year-old daughter, including visits to Thermopylae on the last day and Delphi on the way back. The experience far exceeded my expectations.
The organization was excellent. Our stay was in a spacious room with three terraces offering a fantastic view of Meteora, the monasteries, and a church. The owners were truly kind and very helpful. They also have a family restaurant next to the apartment where we tried the best traditional Greek food we found throughout Greece—you could sense it was cooked by their grandma 😊.
The places we saw during the trip were insanely beautiful. We also received plenty of information about the history and life in the monasteries. Our guide, Apostolis, was fun, knowledgeable, and full of energy. Being a local, he shared interesting facts about life in the nearby village: "All the people there don’t only know everyone but also everything about everyone." We took a sunset tour and a morning tour with Apostolis.

We also went on an additional, separately paid hiking tour with Kris, a great expert who explained the formation of Meteora right on the sandy ground. Kris told us many interesting things about history, the village, and Meteora. We also talked a lot about our hobbies, making it a very fun experience. He even showed us a "secret place" where only the locals go, and we enjoyed the sunset to the fullest there. Kris is also an excellent photographer and took wonderful photos of us (with our phones, of course). This hiking tour was the cherry on top—an exceptional experience where we climbed the Meteora mountain, discovered a hidden chapel, and rang the bell high up.

In Thermopylae and Delphi, we traveled in a private minivan. Our driver, Sotos, was very friendly and communicative. He told us many things about the landscape and Greek history. The drive through the mountains and past the olive groves went by in a flash. Did you know where the term "Thermopylae" comes from?

We visited the monasteries during less crowded times, traveled in the latest air-conditioned vans, and most importantly, received friendly, good-natured, and professional guidance from locals who truly have Meteora in their blood.

Fabulous day from beginning to end. Our driver, Petro, was polite, punctual, knowledgeable and friendly. He took care that all our needs are met along the way - water, bathroom stops, etc. Meteora is a magical place. Petro pointed out the highlights, merits and history of everything we saw. I would highly recommend this experience. I would also add that being in good physical shape helps. There are a lot of stairs at the monasteries.

This experience was amazing. My husband and I are traveling Greece for our honeymoon and booked this adventure. We loved it! The hotel they arranged, boutique Holy Spirit, was perfect. We ended up eating all our meals at the attached restaurant, Gardenia Taverna because after our first lunch we couldn’t imagine anything else could be better.

The sunset tour was incredible. Our guide, Apostolos, was so passionate about teaching us all about Meteora and the neighboring towns. We learned so much and had a beautiful experience with amazing views and many stops to get the full experience of the monastic beginnings of Meteora.

The next day Vasilis took us on a tour of three Monasteries. Each different and each beautiful. Again we learned so much and had an amazing time.

The third day back to Athens through Thermopolyes and Delphi was also wonderful. We had a private driver with two other guests and had a great experience throughout.

We cannot recommend this company and your enough. The two nights were not enough, we didn’t want to leave! But definitely stay at least one or two nights to really get the experience.

We were a family group of 9 with 5 children so we decided to take the private tour option. That is very convenient, we were able to make a stop on our travels, decide which monastery to visit and have lunch in a nice restaurant.
iGoHellas was able to organise a private French speaking guide for us and that was perfect for our children. Konstantin the guide was very flexible and shared interesting stories on our way and in the monasteries.
Our driver (Lefteris? not sure about spelling) was on time just in front of our apartment for our early departure, drove safely and he also had plenty of cooled water bottles... which were really appreciated as the temperature was really high.
Strongly recommend that private day trip !

This tour exceeded our expectations with a knowledgeable local guide, beautiful trails through the mountains, and stunning scenery. It was a fabulous way to see Meteora, and extra special to view the sunset from the top of a rockface. We thoroughly recommend this tour, but be warned that it's not an easy hike, with some steep paths, and a decent amount of uphill terrain.

This is definitely a tour worth doing. Amman Express, the local agents are to be congratulated for their organisation. Eleni the guide was excellent at her job and Dimitri's a very safe driver. The tour is a long one but Medeora is magical and we visited 2 monasteries and saw magnificent landscapes
