Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Totally alone, friendly lady, breathtaking church, little pearl in the village you can reach easily from the square but also by the path down from the meteora. We were 3, my sons of 11 and 13, we tried to understand the " cartons" from the past. They liked it but we are a museum visiting family but I think it is also for children fascinating if you stay not too long and look together.

It's about 82 kms away from Trikala and it's open from April 1st till October 31st, every day 10am.-18pm. except Wednesdays and it's free to the public. There's no other church like it in Greece as it has 13 domes ( The 12 domes represent the 12 Apostles and the main dome Christ. Its architecture is unique and rare. Just AMAZING!!
If you are in Meteora, Kalambaka or Metsovo you must absolutely visit it.Few minutes before you reach the church of Timios Stavros (Holy Cross) there's a taverna near the river which serves simple but Delicious cheap food.

This tiny church can be found just outside the small hilly village of Sarakina. There is a small sign on the road close to the more modern church of the village. We found the key of the church under a stone in the left wall close to the door. If not there we heard it could be obtained in the “kafenio” (traditional cafe) of the village.

It is a very lovely small byzantine church built in stone. It had some lovely hagiography murals dating back to 1325. This beautiful and distinctive church is set in a quiet and lovely spot with a huge old olive tree just outside of it. It was well worth a stop on our way.
