Very nice one day trip with super comfortable bus, only 10€ launch and very nice, harmful and highly qualified guide - Maria. Best price for a Meteora Trip. We visit 3 monastery with only 3€ entrance per person. Make a lot of amazing photos in wonderful places. Thank you Meteora Thrones.

Spectacular experience with informative & helpful tour guide Anna. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone who wish to see more of Greece in a short timeframe. The bus journey to Delphi is nothing but breathtaking. And the journey from Delphi to Meteora brings a total different experience. I must say, most of the time, we are spent on traveling. But the guide shared a lot of history and stories along the way. Also, the view itself is worth the ride. There is also WiFi on the bus (but connection can be slow in the mountains). Overall, we enjoyed this tour.

Amazing views and excellent, knowledgable and friedly guides. I did the sunset tour one afternoon/evening and a hiking tour the next morning. Very different tours where we saw very different views and visited different monasteries. Well worth it.

I would highly recommend this amazing tour. The only drawback is it's a long day, starting about 7am and not getting home until 10.45pm. But it's worth it to be able to fit so much into a one-day tour from Athens. Going part way by train is excellent - it's more comfortable and you get some amazing views of the plateaus and mountains you travel through. The public bus is only perhaps 1.75 hours of the journey. The lovely Penny and Mr Stathis met us in a mini bus at Kalabaka station and from that point, we spent 5 hours without wasting a moment.

We stopped at many amazing viewpoints during the day to really see the monasteries and photograph the stunning landscape. We also went inside 3 monasteries (St Stephen, Varlaam and Roussanou, but this is variable as different monasteries are closed on different days), and we saw all the other monasteries from a distance, and in between we had a quick but delicious lunch (not included in price). Admission to the monasteries is also extra, but it's only about 3 Euro each. Ladies do literally have to wear a skirt (not long pants) but the tour company provided those to put over our clothes.

Varlaam and Roussanou had 100 - 150 steps each, but they were neat and not hard to climb. St Stephen is the only monastery with no steps to get up (there are small staircases inside). Great Meteoron and Aghia Triada have 300 steps. If you have very limited mobility, you can't 100% guarantee you will be able to see inside one, but your chances are good, and if the weather is ok you will definitely get to see them from the outside.

Meteora is not like any other sight I have seen and this tour was the best way to see them - I can't imagine how it could have been better.

The Meteora, Thermopylae and Delphi trip was an amazing experience. Sebastian is a very friendly and knowledgeable driver who went out of his way to make sure that we enjoyed every bit of the journey. He provided a captivating narration of the history of the landmarks and monuments we visited. There was plentiful provision of water and soft drinks kept cold in ice, and snacks. The ride took a few hours and the Mercedes vehicle was perfect for comfort. At the end of the trip, we were treated to a sumptuous Greek dinner included in the price of the tour. All in all, we will heartily recommend this tour to family and friends.

My husband, Phillip, and I enjoyed the most remarkable tour of the Basilica and the Monasteries and Meteroa with our brilliant guide, Dimitris. He is an in-depth story teller and historian with a wonderful sense of humor. He knows how to pace a tour. And, he is responsive to any questions. He even guided us to a spectacular meal as we finished our tour. Dimitris’ English is superb. If the scale is 5 stars, we would give Dimitris ten stars with a golden light in each one. Judy

We were picked up on time at our hotel and immediately felt comfortable with our guide Alex. On our way out of Athens he offered some history and pointed out monuments as we passed. The 4 hour ride went quickly, Alex allowed us time to sleep and also gave many facts about the countryside as we passed. This was during the heatwave last week and he made sure we had plenty of water and started w the easiest monastery to enter first. He offered suggestions as to which ones we might want to visit, took us to scenic spots for pictures and was always waiting when we exited. We elected to see 4 monasteries and he didn’t rush us to get back on the road as we had heard of some other tours. We then went into town and had a delicious lunch at a place he recommended. On the long ride back we stopped at Thermopylae and took pictures and he told us the historical significance of the site and the hot springs. Also, we had shared some of our itinerary in Athens and he text us later to give some recommendations on places we mentioned. Would certainly recommend using LS Tours and specifically Alex. We were worried about the long day and the heat and Alex made the experience easy and memorable.

The tour was wonderful. We got picked up from our hotel and drove to our location for our hike. Everything went smoothly and the service was top notch. Our guide Iven was awesome and taught us alot along the way. They also give you walking sticks and water if needed. Beautiful views and beautiful monastery we got to see. Highly recommend a guided tour. Much easier to get there and back.

We were delighted with the punctuality of the service, value for money, knowledge and experience of our guide Yiorgos.

We took the drive to Meteora via the scenic route recommended by Yiorgos and we were able to see the magnificent landscape and agricultural aspects of the region including the Pindus mountains, the olive and peach groves and the fields full of sunflowers.

On arrival at Meteora our driver took us to areas not witnessed by the majority of visitors which we found fascinating. The only downside was the number of visitors, mainly on coach trips, that made the monasteries slightly overcrowded but we visited during peak season. On return journey Thessaloniki we asked to visit Neraida and the lake of Polyfytou which we found utterly inspiring.

The convenience and comfort of the private tour made our experience extremely enjoyable. Our transfers to and from the airport were equally comfortable and arrived as booked.

We would not hesitate to recommend De Tours Transfers. Our very grateful thanks to Illias, Dimitra and Yiorgos for making this all possible.

We enjoyed our trip from Athens to Meteora. Our trip included a nice 4-star hotel in the town of Kalabaka, two guided tours in Meteora, and one self-guided tour in Delphi. The sunset guided tour in Meteora was our favorite... we had a wonderful guide Katerina (Kate) who explained the landscape, history, and spiritual significance of Meteora. Katerina was friendly, well-informed, and funny. As a local, her personal connection to the town was evident in the stories she shared. We also loved our bus driver, Kostas, who went above and beyond taking great photos of the people in our group. We enjoyed the minibus tour to three monasteries, which was led by a guide named Vasilis who was an expert historian.

Note for future visitors: 1. We highly recommend staying in Kalabaka downtown and not a hotel outside of it. 2. We initially chose the hiking tour, but switched to minibus tour because it visits three monasteries instead of just one. We booked through Get Your Guide, and this distinction was not made clear in the description so something to be aware of!

This tour was absolutely worthwhile! Our guide Nancy was great and our bus driver Nik was talented. The tour was organised so that we avoided a lot of the crowds and Nancy was very informative about the area and the history. Being a smaller group definitely made it easier for the bus to get closer to each monastery and there was less time wasted waiting for people.

Glorious and picturesque. We thought we were going by train instead it was bus. It turned out just fine. Dora was wonderful and cheery!
