We were fortunate enough to have time to take the park bus all the way to the end of the line at the Hermit's rest trailhead.
Hermit Trail is located at the end of a nine stop Grand Canyon shuttle (free) covering the western portion of the Canyon south rim inside the National Park.

This paved nature trail provided plenty of exciting, heart stopping overlooks (if you are afraid of heights just stay way back) and took us about 45 minutes.
I love that the Parks Service makes so much of our country's natural beauty accessible to nearly everyone in some form or another.

A hiker’s and photographer’s paradise, this park has some of the best mountainous trails on the planet and brilliant views alongside.

The trail is beautifully maintained, and the park staff and volunteers do an amazing job of making this gem accessible to all of us.

The Park Service maintains a large water plant at Roaring Springs where millions of gallons burst daily from the bottom of the Redwall, at the headwaters of Bright Angel Creek and the junction of Bright Angel Canyon.

There are small car parks or space aside the road to pull your vehicle if you want to enjoy the various stops between the village and Hermits Rest.
We took the park bus out for sunset and it was perfect.
Hermit Trail Grand Canyon National Park 12.4 km away
#9 of 40 Nature & Parks in Grand Canyon National Park
Hermit's Rest is at the far end of the park thus makes a great place to start the day away from everyone else who starts at the beginning of the park.
This trail is even not listed on the pocket trail map on the National Park, so it attracts way less people as compared with Bright Angel trail.
