This experience was amazing! The drive into the park is beautiful! You'll need to pay $2520 in pesos to get into the park. Best to be prepared with exact change if possible, as they couldnt break my $500 peso (~ 5 dollar bill). They broke all the people into groups and staggered the hikes so we weren't on top of each other. I think the description of this tour undersells the physical effort needed for this. Know that your feet will be heavy with gear, you'll need to stomp a lot, and you'll need to be sure on your feet as you trek up and down icy terrain. It's not a leisurely walk. Wear waterproof pants and shoes, especially shoes! You'll inevitably need to hike through small glacial streams. If there is rain in the forecast wear waterproof pants and jacket!! Gloves are a must! But if you forget them, they provide some. If you have a wearable GoPro, bring it! Many times you'll want to take pictures but can't because you have to focus on safely hiking. Taking time to get a packed lunch the day before is annoying, but you'll be thanking yourself for bringing something yummy and hearty after the hiking! The tour ends with self-paced sightseeing in the national park. It's stunning!

My husband and I went on the "Glaciares Gourmet Premium" cruise in January 2020 while holidaying in South America.

    Positives:
    - Easy to book online.
    - Nice surprises along the way during the cruise, i.e. whisky was served with iceberg ice, and sweet sparkling wine at the end when we'd seen the glaciers.
    - Efficient service with frequent top-ups of the unlimited wines during lunch.

I'd definitely recommend going for the premium package; you get a completely separate area (both inside and outside) with less people and, therefore, better pictures. There was also a separate (surprisingly spacious and fresh) bathroom just for the "premium package" passengers.

    Negatives:
    - The premium cabin isn't big. There are in total three tables, two of which are semi-circular and shared with others. We were very lucky and were assigned the only two-person table. So if you're looking for a romantic experience and/or hate forced socialising, ask for this table.
    - Don't take the shared bus which is a massive waste of time. We would have saved an hour (in hotel pick-ups and drop-offs going around town) both in the morning and evening if we'd just booked a taxi instead.

Overall, an enjoyable and easy way to take in the beautiful views.

We were a group of 6 people, they looked for us at the Hotel Xelena in the group at 10 am, after an hour by bus, we sailed 45 minutes through the glacier, the view is incredible walking on the ice is unique and we ended up with a case of whiskey with a piece of ice from the glacier, do not hesitate to do this tour.

This was a fantastic day and the tour was well hosted by Natalia who had fantastic knowledge and was v engaging. We were a small group so the day ran smoothly and we got the most out of the visit. Highly recommend the boat tour in addition to the walking routes - our fave part! Worth the money and a must do if travelling in South America.

The bus picked us up from our hotel with about 20 other people. Note that the time quoted for bus arrival is really just the start time to commute from hotel to hotel. You will need cash for the park entrance fee -- it is not included in the price you pay online. The trek itself was easy (we're in our 30s and not overweight). The guides were knowledgeable and conduct tours in english or spanish as needed. Save photos on the boat tour for the way back from the glacier. Make sure on the catwalks that you just sit and watch (and listen!) for the glacier to calve. Amazing experience. In general, this was a really cool tour. Worth the money, as it is a once in a lifetime type of experience. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

Excellent pre-trip communication, prompt pick-up, friendly and informative guide (Natalie?) with great tips and maneuvers to navigate all activities smoothly and efficiently. The glacier totally delivered too - it was magnificent and I got to witness a pretty major break-off (calving) that was awesome!

I recommend you bring layers, wear sunscreen even if it's cloudy and chilly, and take snacks/box lunch and spend the time you have to walk all the catwalks instead of time buying/eating food there. They're different and all have their own special views.

It's a long journey with a couple of amazing sights. The view of the Andes was spectacular and the water fall was also very interesting. Seeing a condor soaring was special. The lunch was very good. The guide was pleasant and very informative. The problem with this tour is that it's a lot of time on the bus and then two hours in El Chalten to walk around. I would have preferred more natural sights.

We drive to the Perito Moreno glacier, one of the few glaciers in the world that is still growing (about two meters per day). Here too the parking lot is completely full, which is not illogical because Perito Moreno is the top attraction in El Calafate. The hike to the Perito Moreno glacier follows a beautifully landscaped route with several steps.

The first viewpoint of the Perito Moreno is probably also the best point to see breaking pieces of ice fall into the lake. Avid hikers can take even longer routes from here, but we opt to experience 'le moment suprême' here. And we don't have to wait long at all to see a first ice block crumble off the Perito Moreno and fall down. After about 10 minutes, a second block falls and eventually what everyone is waiting for happens because a huge ice wall of 70 meters high tears off, which ends up in the water with a huge bang. Unbelievably, this is a textbook example of 'being in the right place at the right time'!

Our tour guide today was Nacho and he was fantastic. He picked us up at our hotel and drove us to Lago Argentino, giving us current and historical information along the way. The view of the lake was stunning. Nacho provided us detailed and interesting information about the cave paintings and native people. The excursion ended with a fantastic meal of soup, stew, dessert and wine in a cave overlooking the lake. We even had a grey fox visit us! This was a great introduction to our stay here in El Calafate.

On my first day in Calafate I found Patagonia Dreams on the main street of town, and booked excursions for the next four days.
They were extremely helpful and friendly, giving advice according to my person al wants and needs.
Every day they sent a WhatsApp message telling me the exact pick-up time at my hotel for the next day's trip.
The driver were professional and on time. The guide were considerate, friendly and always explain Ed everything to me in English, although all my fellow travelers spoke Spanish.
    My 4 excursions were amazing:
    1. Perito Moreno Glacier (walking)
    2. Glacier Boat ride
    3. El Chalten
    4. Visit to an Argentina ranch.

Patagonia Dreams also gave me a free transfer to the airport, and went out of their way to ensure I got on the correct flight (I had given them erroneous information, and they were worried about me!).

Good pick up and drop off at hotel. Guide was fluent in English and Spanish. There were several walks at the National Park to view the glacier. The sound of the ice cracking and falling into the water showed what is happening to our climate.

The horseback ride was an incredible experience. I didn’t understand the instructions but apparently my horse did because it knew exactly what to do. Riding a horse next to the Andes and Lago Roca was quite an experience. Lunch was delicious and I met some very cool people there.

I also saw a condor and an armadillo on the drive up along the gravel road to the ranch.

The opportunity to see the glaciers up close and to trek on them was definitely a bucket list activity! From the moment you strap on those crampons, you know you are in for a once in a lifetime experience. The guides were great and you even finished the trek with a glass of whisky on glacier ice. This was not a strenuous trek so I think anyone could take it on - we even saw a man who seemed to have cerebal palsy and he had two guides assist him and was able to complete the trek.

Nice way to spend the day - highly recommended . The walk itself is about 2 hours and is very easy (it’s not 7 miles - more like 3). Fascinating fossilised trees , interesting and beautiful scenery. Nice coffee stop on the way there and back. The driving itself probably takes 2 hours there and 2 hours back
