Tripadvisorās approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What travellers are saying
- Anabel-2013Santa Barbara, CA191 contributionsYou can enjoy a walk to this location on the periphery of the main city. You get an overview of the local history focused on the Spanish conquest, the growth of the area, the development of the city and the wine. Spanish iwll help your visitWritten 31 December 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

- 432JamesDBoucherville, Canada436 contributionsIf you like old furniture, old paintings of important people, drawings of Mendoza of years gone by and old pistols and swords, this is for you.
In a relaxed atmosphere, the building construction is a cool sanctuary from the hustle and bustle of the city.
I love the old desks with their many little drawers, old record player, typewriter and coal bed warmer.
It is not exciting and kids would zip through this with limited interest since uou cannot touch anything. It might hold a six year old's attention gor 20 minutes ir do. An adult might spend an hour or so if it piques his interest.
It is so central off Plaza Independencia that it should be seen.Written 28 February 2015This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - nhdrjonDublin, Ireland136 contributionsThis was an very unexpected geat experience. This is a lovely, free admission art museum with a very cooperative staff. It is spacious and airy and all th art is well labeled.
I especially enjoyed the woodcuts o the third floor.
It also has nice views from its upper floors.
It has a very nice cafe which when we viisted only had coffee and trea.Written 20 April 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Certainly worth a short detour, even more so as entrance is free.Written 14 December 2015This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - podrozniczka60New Jersey14,840 contributionsThe Arte Moderno museum is located under the Plaza Independencia. It may be somewhat disappointing. Small with temporary art exhibits that seem haphazard. It is filled with the school children. There is no guide or explanation in English. I found the decor of women's bathroom interesting. The ticket you buy allows for the visit in the aquarium and the Fundacion Museum. .Written 9 October 2014This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Cathrine MMendoza, Argentina1 contributionFascinating collection of artifacts from Mendoza in the 1800's. The museum obviously doesn't receive any funding other than what it collects in entrance fees, but the care with which it was put together is also obvious and the volunteers and donors are to be commended for their efforts. Everything is in Spanish, therefore much is lost if you can't read or speak Spanish. It would be great if there was a book available in English French German or Italian. Worth seeing - you must ring the bell to gain entrance.Written 16 January 2016This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - CFEIIICenter, TX4,982 contributionsKind of an interesting museum, but bring your imagination! Pretty sure the house was destroyed in the 1861 earthquake, so what you see are the ruins and foundation. The glass floor allows you to see a portion of the old house.Written 9 October 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
