A really well run operation. I booked based on previous good reviews but was still pleasantly surprised at the lovely booking office that greeted us on our arrival at Hermanus, especially in comparison to other whale watching companies on the harbour.
The briefing and pre voyage chat was really interesting and informative and set our expectations correctly. We visited towards the end of the whale watching season so understood that there were not many whales left in the area. That being said, the crew did well to track down a mother and her calf and get us close enough to see them without being too intrusive to the animals.
A great day out and I imagine even better at peak whale season. Thank you!

We had the most amazing Garden route 4 day adventure with our guide Mawande. I was worried there would be a lot of driving but everything was really well planned and honestly the drives ended up being some of the tour highlights because every road we took had spectacular views!

Mawande is a very knowledgeable guide, great driver and a genuine person who was able to teach us many things about the culture of South Africa.
The accommodation that was chosen (we opted for the private option) was wonderful on every night of the tour. The Safari game lodge was out of this world! The other guest houses were really quaint and had their own charm! Great breakfast at every one.

I really enjoyed every activity and stop on this tour and being a small group, you get a bit of flexibility if you need to change things up a bit. It's amazing how much we managed to fit in - Cango caves (amazing), Safari drives (also amazing), ostrich farm (so much more fun than I expected, we had a lot of fun with these funky birds) were some of my top highlights but there were plenty of other interesting stops and also there is some time each day to unwind and relax by the pool.

A team of 8 of us were amazed at this experience. Godfrey and Gareth were the most awesome guides and prepped us so well for the 90min ride. They made sure to take pictures of us while we stopped to take in the breath taking views of the Overberg.

Amazing experience to see the sharks swim up to you in the cage. We had 3 or 4 sharks swimming at our cage. Unfortunately, it was a bit difficult to see underwater as the water was a bit murky, not to mention COLD. But the guides were great and the wet suits they give do a fairly decent job of keeping you warm. It was a really exciting experience all around

We sailed into the far side of the bay in Hermanus - a small town on the Cape Town coast. The boat captain was very experienced and the boat was full of "eagle-eyed" customers yelling out when a whales became visible. We all chipped in, even though we didn't know each other well, and everyone shared the deck so that vantage points for pictures could be obtained for all. Drinks and snack food were provided on board for those that needed them. Wear layered clothing and bring sunscreen - even though it may be hot on land - it was actually chilly and bright on the water.

We observed Southern Right Whales - cows and calves. Some of the whales "bumped" our boat, dove for food and were seen practicing "mating" manuevers (females rolling on their backs). There were at least six (6) different whale pods observed during our almost 2.5 hours on the water. The captain manuevered the boat exceptionally well - getting close to the whales without "spooking" them.

The winery tour will be covered under a seperate review - although I can tell you that our first winery was a "letdown" and our second winery was much, much better!!

There was a lunch stop at a restaurant in Hermanus which was OUTSTANDING. This will also be covered in a seperate review.

Would I recommend this trip to everyone? The answer is a resounding "YES"....

We saw 4 of the 5. Had an awesome time with a pod of common Dolphins. We also saw Penguins and Seals far away from their normal habitat, swimming in the ocean.

We had an excellent day with Bosch Travel and Tours. Our driver, Orion, arrived early, explained the day, and was a great host. Prior to our trip, we were contacted through Viator to make sure we understood what was included in our booking. Orion drove us to Hermanus, gave us some history of the area and answered all of our questions. When we got to the dock, it was clear the boat owners knew him and he received a warm greeting. It was agreed that we paid for the whale watching separately, since it is dependent on weather (part of the communication before our trip). The boat company even gave us a discount when they saw our tour guide.

The ship (yacht) was fantastic and after seeing the other options, we clearly were with the best. We saw all 3 varieties of whales and stayed on the water longer than the other boats.

It was lunchtime when we finished the Whale watching, and Orion made reservations for us at a local restaurant.
Our next stop was to see the Penguins, followed by a scenic drive along the coast. He answered all of our questions along the way--even making useful suggestions of things to do on the remaining days in our trip.

We concluded the day at a gift shop (we requested this!) and he took us to a shop that offered 60% off their prices. We never would have found it without him.

We highly recommend Orion and Bosch Travel and Tours. I don't usually write reviews, but we thought this deserved one!

I'm a quiet experienced horserider myself. But I have had a severe accident at high speed a few years ago, and I'm scared at very high speed. The 2 guys who were with me on the tour could cross over the beach, the guide did really care about me and stayed a little behind with me so I could canter on a more steady speed. It made my experience wonderfull! I have never been horseriding on the beach and I loved it, thanks to my wonderfull guide! But experience is required!

From the time that I booked this online in the UK to the day of the trip itself I knew I was dealing with a competent and well run organisation. We booked a private trip because we wanted to spend longer at the Harold Porter Botanical Gardens, as well as visitng the penguin colony and the whale watching at Hermaneus. Our guide. Andrew, planned the day well and even had a good knowledge of the plants at the garden. we saw many penguins and also a number of Southern Right Whales. We enjoyed lunch at a good waterfront restaurant. This is a first class operator and can be recommended for any organised tour in Cape Town.

Really unique and fun experience. The trike is great fun and Willem has a wealth of interesting information about the area that we would have never gotten on our own. The drive itself was definitely the most scenic and beautiful that I had ever done. Highly recommend!

Fiona hosted a fantastic trip to this part of the Cape. She found us 3 beautiful hikes across hills, over cliffs and to a waterfall, all wonderfully interspersed with great vineyards and wines to sample. She’s got a range of hikes that she knows to suit every level of fitness. The Pilates is run from her own well equipped studio. Her home is beautiful and she cooks some wicked South African meals. She’s really knowledgable about the wildlife of the hikes but I loved just as much the wildlife and birds that can be watched from her balcony and garden. Thank you Fiona for giving us all such a great experience and for being such a fabulous host.

Stop reading this review and book Percy's tour! He is that amazing!!! We weren't able to see whales but this is a great introductory tour to Hermanus with great recommendations on activities and food. Percy is so knowledgable about the town and he is loads of fun! I can't recommend him enough!
