What travellers are saying
- Linda JAtlanta, GA41 contributionsBeautiful views of the entire city and coast. If the sky is clear go right away- they are not kidding when they say that the view can be quickly obstructed by clouds.Written 23 May 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Linda JAtlanta, GA41 contributionsVery touristy and overpriced but some good restaurants. We went there to catch the ferry to Robben Island and then walked around afterward for a few hours. There are much nicer places to spend time in Cape Town.Written 23 May 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- ashvparkerCape Town, South Africa6 contributionsOf course Lion's head is free, other than the energy required to get up. However if you are looking for a hike, Lion's head is by far the easiest hike the gives the best of the Cape Town mountain views. Great to do for sunset and easy to get down under moonlight.Written 19 April 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Sasha AlanoNovo Hamburgo, RS68 contributionsIf you are in Cape Town you must drive down to Cape Point. The park entrance fee is quite high (360 rand pp), but it’s totally worth it. Go from Simons Town to enjoy the scenery road, and once there climb up or take the funicular to the Lighthouse. There is a walk to Cape Of Good Hope, it takes 1.5 hours to go and come back, we did not have the time but wish I could have done it.Written 21 May 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- vtmpHouston, TX70 contributionsBreath taking sunset. A plus was that you got to see the night light of the city below and the table mountain silhouette. I went twice to see. Just to remind if you want to get a parking, you should got there an hour earlier so that you could pick a park and a spot to enjoy. Loved itWritten 16 April 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- CRLsrating677 contributionsKids always seem to love aquariums, and our kids loved this place. We wanted to try to the diving experience but they have limited time spots available. Technically, the aquarium does not have the true junction between the Atlantic and Indian Oceans.Written 13 May 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Nicola KJohannesburg, South Africa152 contributionsParking takes forever when it's a beautiful day in season, but it's worth the wait and the walk. No access for those who have mobility restrictions, as all beach access is via many stairs. Umbrellas and loungers available for hire on the beaches, take cash with you. Saves carrying extra weight up and down the stairs.Written 2 March 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Eileen1 contributionLovely little fishing town - well worth making a stop to walk around the shops, the beach and also the harbour area. Lots of good restaurants, we only visited two, but both were really good. We had no problem with safety, parked and walked to a restaurant one time, and had to ask for directions. Never felt unsafe.
Interesting point - because it is on the other side of the mountain from Cape Town, the weather may be completely different! We woke up on a cloudy, overcast day in Llandudno, drove to Hout Bay and it was blue skies and sunny!Written 28 April 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - Liezel Wilson2 contributionsBeautiful beach but very windy.
Great place to take your dogs for a run. So much open space for them to go wild.Written 24 March 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - JulesGermany1 contributionIf you are searching for a place to take impressive pictures or enjoy a walk surrounded by colorful houses- then this is the place for you.
Bo-Kaap is an area in Cape Town which is known for its colorful and unique houses, which will definitely put a smile on your face :D
I personally am always fascinated by pretty exterior design and fancy cities, so this area is definitely unforgettable.
There were quite a few poor people though, who came up to us and begged for money, so I will recommend to still take extra care of your belongings, even in this doll town.Written 8 May 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - MCHands1972Vanderbijlpark, South Africa165 contributionsWhen I think about Cape Town, my mind immediately takes me too the Saturday Market at the Old Biscuit Mill.
A fantastic selection of international cuisines, great music and a fun environment, not to be missed by anyone of any age.
Do yourself a favour and add this as a destination to visit on your next trip. You will not be disappointedWritten 22 May 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - Stephen MorrisDubai, United Arab Emirates41 contributionsWhilst it wasn't beach going weather when we visited, the view of the Twelve Apostles mountain range is stunning.
Part of an unforgettable day tour from Cape Town Waterfront to Cape Point.Written 21 March 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - SenhorjabPretoria, South Africa41 contributionsAwesome area, lots of new fresh shops close to the beach... The colorful houses need some TLC... Main reason I went there was to see the houses but was kinda disappointedWritten 26 April 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- SDLHOTELDIVAFranschhoek, South Africa69 contributionsLovely one night getaway to celebrate our birthdays. We were upgraded to a beautiful ambassador chalet with beautiful views and a tranquil setting however no hairdryer in the chalet and the drains had a strong odour. The dining experience was mediocre however the breakfast needs some serious work. Overall we enjoyed our stay, however with a little bit of extra effort from the staff and attention to detail it would have been even more memorable.Written 21 November 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Jihad KaradawiKhartoum, Sudan12 contributionsThe wheel isn’t as big as you imagine. For someone who tried the London Eye for example it’s not worth to try this one. However it has closed units (with some dedicated for VIP) Air-conditioned and you get 4 or 5 laps (max 15 mins). The kids would love it. Good activity and value for money.Written 12 October 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
