What travellers are saying
- David Kinnan1 contributionWe came from the United States a couple of weeks ago to Cape Town. We were excited, but not sure what to expect.
Fortunately, on day one we lucked into Anessu to show us around.
Long story short-we liked him so much we spent 3 different days with him on our trip.
He absolutely made our vacation.
His knowledge of everywhere he took us was first rate.
We saw the Cape of Good Hope, Chapman's Peak, Hout Bay, Bo-Kaap, Hermanus for whale watching, Camps Bay, Sea Point to shop at Mojo's, whale watching in Hermanus, horse riding on Noordhoek Beach, ziplining, penguin watching, you name it, we did it with Anessu.
And the whole time, each place came alive with stories and personal anecdotes.
Do yourself a favor and hook up with JAP Shuttles and Anessu while you are in Cape Town.Written 2 December 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - Sara1 contributionKirsty planned an amazing 2 week trip for my fiancee and I to Tanzania and Zanzibar. She presented us with different itineraries for different price points and worked with us to personalize the trip. We were so happy with the entire vacation. For the safari portion, each lodge was incredible. From the welcoming staff to beautiful locations and phenomenal food, we were blown away. Our guide, Andrew, was wonderful and made our trip so memorable. He was knowledgeable and fun. We learned so much from him and had amazing animal sightings thanks to his expertise. For the Zanzibar portion, Kirsty booked a hotel perfect for our interest in kiteboarding and handled all the transportation arrangements. Kirsty stayed in touch throughout the trip to answer all questions. We would not hesitate to recommend Anywhere in Africa SafarisWritten 7 May 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Alby15Province of Oristano, Italy55 contributionsThe Metropolitan is a course very close to the Cape Town waterfront so since I was staying at the Victoria & Alfred hotel I was able to reach it in a few minutes.
I hadn't booked but I was warmly welcomed and placed in a team that was starting right at that moment.
The price for the green fee, the rental of the golf bag and the purchase of the balls to play was surprisingly fair.
What can I say, playing with nice people in a beautiful field, with the view of Table Mountain was beautiful.
I would happily return there to play.Written 8 October 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - Bronwyn Lawrence1 contributionMy room had a modern yet vintage feel, neat and very spacious.
The staff are helpful and extremely friendly and made my experience even better. The hotel caters for holiday goers as well as business travelers.
You can relax and read a book, do online shopping or even work all in one secluded spot. Its just amazing.
The food was fantastic and hosts an array of different meals to suit everyone's needs.
This is the perfect place for that work life balance we are all eager to find.
Ideals Cartel Hotel is definitely my new home away from home.Written 28 January 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - Geoff WCape Town, South Africa123 contributionsInvited to play at this course and pleasantly surprised. Very good condition, particularly the greens. Clubhouse experience was pro service orientated. Only negative for me as am not a long hitter is we had to play off the back tees as apparently club champs were coming up??Written 15 December 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Pat55.grant2 contributionsWe played this course on 4th Feb on arrival it was very busy . The pro shop staff seemed under pressure. They first of all told me that I had only booked 1 buggy , when I questioned that has I had booked from the uk a second member of staff intervened and told me that I hadn’t booked any .this went on for sometime even to the point I was questioned again how did I book , who I had spoken to and which number did I call . Prior to booking at Westlake I had read a review regarding buggies not being available which is why I phoned prior to check my booking had been accepted.
They did eventually find us the 2 buggies once some of the members had finished their round . Advice to anyone get a ref number and name if your booking buggies or be prepared fir an embarrassing battle. Not the service I expect when in SA . Unfriendly staff and members , all that said the course was in excellent condition and interesting.Written 8 February 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - crystal kidDubai, United Arab Emirates25 contributionsPotentially a nice course sadly the spillway canal running through the course is disgusting. This is not fault of the golf course but the municipalitys problem. Such a shame as it destroys the beauty of the parkland course.Written 29 December 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
