This is a nice to park to visit. It is very big so so you should plan to spend half a day here. There are big open spaces including a quarry park.

There are also three domes that are very similar to the ones in Singapore gardens by the bay. They have a good collection of tropical flowers as well as cactuses in these domes.

When we went, much of the south gate and area around east gate was under heavy construction, so we entered via the west gate. You need a ticket but there's no charge, and a health code. From there, the steps take you straight up to the pagoda, where there is also a small shop selling drinks and tea eggs. More steps take you up to the observatory/museum and the basilica was past it. Probably takes 30min for that entire walk, all paved and not super steep. The basilica was closed for repairs, from the sign it looked to have been closed for the last six months.

We wandered out the east gate via a very nice path through a bamboo forest. I was disappointed to not see any wild animals at all, and everywhere the ground and plant leaves were covered in dust. It was totally empty but with the huge parking lots, you can tell it gets very crowded. Likely because it was winter, we didn't see many food vendors at all.

I'd allocate maybe 2-3hrs to see all the mountain parks in the area. Theres a ton of other things to do in sheshan though, including happy valley amusement park, smurf land, visiting the quarry hotel, golf. There is a water park too but closed in off season.

NOt a bad experience. Lots of rides (more than Disneyland - or so it seems) Line for rides only take minutes so you can have a full day of entertainment

It is really disappointing to climb up that hill and find the church closed. That’s what happened. The not so smart people here at TA refuse to publish this notification for some reason, so this is the second try, as I would have appreciated if someone would have told me.

I decided to visit Thames Town on a Saturday. It wasn’t very busy, but still busy enough!
I had to take 3 subways & a didi to get here!

The town is very nice! It really does feel like I’ve stepped back into the UK! Lovely little town to just walk around and escape Shanghai!

I wasn’t able to find any cafes or restaurants that sold British foods (fish & chips) unfortunately! There is a Starbucks and a corner shop!

I found a cute little cafe called The Elephant House (just round the corner from Starbucks) which I recommend. The owner speaks perfect English! The food is delicious (western food)!

The lady in the tourist information didn’t speak any English! Although they had a map in English!

It was sooooooo far away for us to go from Pudong but we tried and succeeded. 1.5 hours on metro and another half hour bus ride. We also found out that we had to stop at Zuibaichi metro station Line 9 ( NOT at Songjiang Xincheng - because the bus there is no more working the route). So we stopped at Zuibaichi metro station and took Bus No. 6. Stopped at Beisong Highway at Chedunzhen. The film park is another 5 min walk to the front on your right.
Entrance fee was 80 Yuan. Huge park. Highlight for us was we managed to catch a movie shoot in progress - a fighting scene.
Park is filled with famous buildings and areas around Shanghai. Nanjing Road in the 1930s was spectacular. Good park to walk around and take lots of photos. Cafes are around for drinks n food.
It was not crowded when we were there last weekend so we liked it.

Public holiday today (Dragon Boat Festival) yet the park was very quiet. Easy to get to on Subway Line 9 - the station is Zuibaichi Park. Allow 2-3 hours as the park occupies 5 hectares. Great bonsai specimens and glimpses of the original gate from the Song dynasty while the other buildings are Ming and Qing. Tickets 12Rmb.

one of the few 'dogs welcome' places in Shanghai. Our Labrador seems to love it here, if you walk the left hand side first it is always less busy and good for dogs to have a good sniff about before going to the more busy other side nearer the lake with the boats and kids stuff. Good in cooler months/winter too.

The building is in good condition and the devices are also good; the museum has everything explained with three languages (Chinese, English and French) and you can perceive the original mood

I visited this place and loved it. There is a calmness surrounding this area. It feels peaceful and serene. Though you are not allowed to climb up the steps, it is nice to behold it's beauty. Also, the park it is in is gorgeous with many old trees and all kinds of flowers. This is a nice place to visit to get away from the hustle and bustle of the busy city life.

You can walk on the grass, and the grass is beautiful, huge space, few people however it's the weekend of the Dragon Boat Festival. Great place to do picnic under the trees.
Entrance fee 100, for children 50, under 0.8 meter free. You can hire a boat and there is a white sand beach. You can even go into the water a couple of meters into the water, hahaha, unusual.

A small but superbe mosque in the middle of nowwhere !! Do NOT miss the cimetery at the back ... ansolute beauty. It goes without saying that dressing should be appropriate for both male as well as females. Avoid prayer time.

Tianma mountain is a small, but steep sided hill, about 10km west of Dongjing station, and can be reached via bus no 9 from the station. It is home to Huzhu pagoda.
