What travellers are saying
- ebkaderDubai, United Arab Emirates117 contributionsWent to watch the Rolex Shanghai Masters
The various descriptions are needlessly complex. Getting there is remarkable easy:
1. Take the metro to the end of line 5 to Xinzhuang station. 4RMB singel journey
2. Take the south exit and walk across the overpass tunnel to the exit.
3. down the stairs/escalator to the left is a marked bus stop with buses departing every few minutes from mid to late morning. 2RMB single journey; takes about 45mins
The stadium is clean and modern with great views from all seats. Best advice: Get seats in the VIP boxes, they're well worth it as you are pretty much courtside!!
Tips: food on offer is poor and overpriced, but that is standard for all venues like this.
Getting back:
1. If you depart before 10pm, you can take the same bus back to Xinzhuang metro station for 2RMB.
2. If you leave after 10pm, you will get another bus back to Caoxi transport hub for 10RMB. This is close to the Shanghai Indoor Stadium Metro station.
Other transport option: taxi for about 100-150 RMB each way.Written 27 October 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - Sock San T8 contributionsThere are many activities in the amusement part. - Rick OMelbourne, Australia70 contributionsEasy to access use subway light purple line 10 (taxis are cheap too) stadium itself is old school, rusty light towers and modified shortened ends to match afl ground size. Plenty of toilets, not enough food and drink vendors and wear hat and sunscreen fir most exposed to weather. Was able to watch training day before and get autographs and talk to players. Will be back next year, next time saints will b better prepared fir the weather food and cultureWritten 8 June 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- TrontonianHamilton, New Zealand6 contributionsFirstly I'm pretty sure the pools I went to were different to this one shown in the pictures. I went to 'Shanghai Swimming Center' (上海游泳馆) which the subway station is named after.
It was good, meaning.. I went from 4pm to 5.30pm and there were roughly 10 people per lane (50m pool). But if you're from New Zealand or Australia you'll have no trouble passing a passing swimmer. 80% of whom were attempting breaststroke. Fortunately for me I only got kicked in the face once.
The cost is ¥40.00 for 90 minutes. Which includes a free cultural experience in the changing room.
I enjoyed a good swim, I hope you will too.Written 19 July 2016This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - Nelson CSalvador, BA1,208 contributionsShanghai master 1000 tennis is a must if you want to learn how well tennis ranking players are appreciated. People from all over Asia came to cheer for Djokovic. Lots for Wawrinka e some for Murray who ended up winning the championship. We had a blast. The food court is large and offers a lot: we had the best duck of the four we tasted. Service is great even without English: they know how to take advantage of google translate. Pretty soon you no longer need to learn a language to communicate!Written 5 November 2016This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Tamara SHerndon, VA214 contributionsI live in Shanghai and have a 4, almost 5, year old daughter and I have taken her to this indoor basketball themed play zone twice. We visited first about a month after the grand opening and again in early 2017. On both occasions we stayed for about 4 hours! My daughter needed little supervision by me and played inside the play area for older children happily for hours (there are staff inside but parents are not allowed in). Also every hour or two there is a staff led group activity from shooting baskets with NBA mascots or cheerleading choreography or short and simple basketball clinics like free throws and the like. My daughter participated in several and seemed to enjoy them as did the other kids. I found the snack bar to be so much better than expected with water, gatorade, potato chips, pizza, spaghetti, fruit squeezes and the like. It is not cheap but then few such places in Shanghai are. It is located inside a mall in the Xintiandi area so a family could make a day of it, with lunch or dinner in the mall or the nearby walking area and several hours play time. There is also an NBA themed store associated with the play zone. Given there are hot days in summer and cold days in winter, wet and poor air quality days year round, this is a good place to take the kids to burn off some energy and for parents to while away the hours with a book or your tablet/phone (to use with wifi) or each other or a friend. There is a play area for the younger set and also for older kids. Best for elementary and preschool aged children.Written 13 January 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Gary MShanghai, China225 contributionsA large park just off Guilin Road in the west of Shanghai. The advantage in this park is it is suitable for running and biking as it has large open roads compared to many parks in Shanghai. It is frequented by locals and there are some small restaurants and seating areas next to the lake. There is boat rental available for a small cost.Written 9 April 2016This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Antonella V18 contributionsEnglish option available. We were 4 and they did not tell us we needed to reserve the entire room of 6 in order to have the English room. Fortunately , they helped us and we got the entire room for us 4. It was fun and , mostly at the beginning , challenging.Written 6 October 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Jen Y3 contributionsMy children (aged 10 and 12) have studied Chinese for several years with different teachers with different teaching methods. They both said that this summer camp was one of the most effective way of studying.
They were a bit unsure if spending two weeks of their holidays studying at first. However they really enjoyed the language classes and felt their language skills improved over the period of the camp.
I appreciated the following points:
- high teacher to student ratio
- friendly, enthusiastic and professional teachers and support staff
- classes tailored to the students' level
- interesting field trip destinations
- great facilities and location
- excellent communication between school and parents.
I'd definitely recommend That's Mandarin summer camp and would send my kids again if we were staying in Beijing.Written 7 September 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - Diene K1 contributionI contacted Lucy from Ink Moon for a team building exercise. Despite our last minute request & agenda changes, Lucy was extremely helpful, understanding and accommodating. We ended up having our workshop in the office. She was able to tailor the content of the workshop to our schedule. Our team left the workshop with a great handcrafted gift for their family and amazing memory of our time. Highly highly recommend.
Thank you Lucy!Written 19 September 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - HappyKaren70363Shanghai, China3 contributionsI went to cages with my son on Saturday and it was amazing that they had so many activities for kids.
