What travellers are saying
- Huetteman D7 contributionsLooking for a break from the hustle and bustle of every day life? Head on over to the Ave Maria Grotto. Wear sturdy walking shoes as the path meanders up and down and the walkway may be slippery depending on weather. Take a step back in time to appreciate the craftsmanship and attention to detail of miniature replicas forged from everyday materials. Lifetimes were dedicated to building these models. No cell phones, no videos, no internet- just a monk and his helpers with perhaps the aide of a photo, making a monument to praise their God.
The setting of the grotto is serene. Enjoy the beautiful plants and structures. Pause for a while and connect to the artistry of nature and man. Be at peace with wonder.Written 4 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. One of the nicest and well-kept covered bridges attractions, can walk across and get view of river. They are also nice walkways on the grounds, it also has some historical buildings and picnic tables on the grounds, if you would like to spend and little time, good restroom areas on grounds also.Written 3 October 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Tim T10 contributionsThis Historic and Spiritual place seems like a well kept secret. I've been learning about this Abbey and it's been here helping a long, long time. Hope everyone who ends up in Cullman or surrounding area makes a little time to seek this out.
