This was a very interesting site to visit. Several people to whom I sent photos assumed it was the Taj Mahal, which allowed for a discussion on the differences between the two sites. I especially enjoyed comparing the two sites, with the differences between the red stone and white marble. Note when planning a visit that the stairs leading up to the building are very steep.

Delhi's best park. I have had so many memories here and i love to go here for picnics with my friends. It is known for its historical monuments and lovely green sidewalks.

I just returned from a visit to India. I booked a car and driver through Pioneer for our 4 day stay in Delhi. Moin Ashraf was excellent in communication, professional, and provided us excellent service. His rates were competitive, and he constantly kept in touch with us to make sure things were going as expected. Our driver, Sunju Sharma, provided excellent service. He was friendly, professional, thoughtful, and took very good care of us.
I travel frequently and highly recommend the services of this agency. I definitely plan on using them again.

Food in Chauri Bazaar to Chandani Chowk , Old Delhi in the Pre Corona days.

“It was a soothing reiki of sights, sounds and smell , of a different world all together. Eating there was just incidental.”

One fine evening, I got off at the Chauri Bazaar Metro station and walked the narrow lanes upto the South Gate of Jama Masjid to the famous ‘food street’ of Kareem’s and Al Jawahar for a hearty meal of Kali Mirch Chicken and a huge Khameeri Roti. This is where the real foodies go.

After spending two hours there, took a loop round the whole Jama Masjid through the east gate night market, to exit on the Chandani Chowk side and after travelling through another set of streets reached the Metro station of Chandani Chowk and went back home. So this was the plan.

Back at the South Gate of Jama Masjid, looking at the multitude of eateries........with food in so much of abundance, one wonders ; how can people go hungry. The list of food items besides the endless grill shops of mutton, chicken and fish , go on to the exotic dishes of the Mughal period. Be it sweets, bakery rusks, roties, everything was available. In fact besides the usual Khameer roti, the most exotic roti one can have there was the sweet dry fruit laden desi ghee Sheermal roti.

Of course I couldn’t miss the amazing historic sweets like the extra long Gulab Jamun, the Kala Jamun, kali Jalebi, white gajar ka halwa, chawal til ke pakore besides the whole range of the usual fare. The ‘sweet milk’ stalls with a variety of other milk based sweets were mouth watering.

Oh yes, I also had the amazing Shahi Tukra ...... the famous Mughal dish which was fabled to have been brought by Emperor Babur, learnt through an Egyptian cook to make use of left over breads. Everyone trying to please me by giving a bite to taste........
Probably today I managed to touch the tip of the iceberg in this milieu of Chauri Bazaar......but with subsequent visits the rusks and bakery biscuit shops that I conveniently overlooked, have to be explored.

This place is cluttered, chaotic, congested and probably the only place in the world where traffic jams are caused by cycle rickshaws, two wheelers and pedestrians !!
But it has its character ...... vendors calling out to clients, a suspected thief being beaten outside a jewellery shop, people standing in the centre of the road deep in discussions , oblivious of the traffic chaos they have caused and ....... so on.

And the cultural transition is so evident when one walks from the muslim dominated lanes of Chauri Bazaar to the front side of Jama Masjid multi talented handicraft markets, melting into the Hindu dominated delicious chaat stalls and sweet shops of Chandani Chowk. Suddenly non veg disappears from the roads and poori /kachori/bewri with aloo Sabzi and thick Jalebis becomes the order of the day.

This food trail of course ends at the strictly vegetarian Parantha wali gali behind the Gurudwara. That’s the only place in the world where you get paranthas fried in shallow pans of desi ghee, stuffed with whatever vegetable you can imagine. Oh yes. I had a sweet banana stuffed parantha !! And the ka^rela parantha is not to be missed. The menu is so vast that you could have every vegetable / dry fruit stuffing possible with mix and match options.

But, there was one common food on both sides of Jama Masjid. This common delicacy is called ‘DAULAT ki Chaat.’ And it is not the traditional chaat!!

Lodged in a straw basket on the back side of a bicycle, this heritage sweet is made from the froth of sweetened milk mixed with kesar/Elaichi flavours and dry fruits. It’s variant is called Makhan Malai in UP and is available only in the winter days as the froth is frozen in the cool breeze of the night. Here the vendors were visible till 10pm.

For many folks, this place may seem dirty and unhygienic compared to modern day kitchens and restaurants , but at the same time it is fascinating to see and smell the exciting delicacies being freshly prepared in front of you.

So go challenge your self, if you are a true foodie !!!

India is a really different country in terms of culture and people habits and way of life.

Rent a car and drive by yourself maybe is not the best option and believe me I’m a good and experience driver.

Rent a car with a driver for me was the option, but in my mind I have the idea that I will lose some liberty and freedom to decide what I want to do in each moment.

Find a company like DIPT was a really good option So I leave below the reason’s to book with DIPT

    1) The booking was very fast ( the answer to my questions ) easy and clear, everything was done by email and what up.

    2) The price ( now that I’ve seen the car and driver ) I recognize that it’s a very good one

    3) The car was very clean from the first to the last day

    4) Water always fresh and available in the car ( believe me after making a walk in the monuments with 42/46 degrees C, fresh water is something that you will appreciate)

    5) The driver ( in my case Mr Kei Lash )
    Good English
    Always in time
Always concerned in doing things the way I think but giving the recommendations to me about the way he thinks that will be more comfortable and secure for me and my wife
Always available to adapt the program to our interest
    Careful and experienced driver

I hope that this long text helps you to book a car with driver as a solution for a trip in India and consult DIPT to manage your program

Subhash was an absolute pleasure to be with on my tour of Old and New Delhi. If I had a question, he had an answer. He was very professional, accommodating, patient (with me and traffic) 😂. I’ll be returning and using this company’s services again, with pleasure!

When India uplifted the COVID quarantine for foreigners, I decided to go. This proved to be the best choice, since I got a very good price for airplane ticket and found India practically empty of international tourists (for instance, no line in TajMahal, where I took all my time while very knowledgeable guide Mr. Mohsen discussed the Mughal culture in details with me). If you like me dream about going to India, the time is now! Don’t miss this opportunity! And if you, like me, are a woman traveling by yourself, hesitating about how to get by in India, your best choice is Trinetra Tours. Unlike regular tour operators, Trinetra Tours is highly committed to the traditional principles of India hospitality, which consists of really caring for you and your needs. This is much more than delivering services; it is about giving you an unforgettable experience. I found this out in the first messages exchanged with Mr. Tapas, who designed my tour exactly according to what I wanted. I had a 5 nights/6 days Golden Triangle tour. I was given choices from 5 stars hotels to homestays, and preferred the latter, which allowed me to have great conversations with Indian families during homemade dinner. Mr. Tapas went out of his way to make sure I had everything I needed: from visa and COVID test to SIM card and traditional Indian clothes (since I preferred to be respectful to local dressing codes, I ordered them online and had them delivered to Trinetra Tours). I was received with a marigold necklace by Mr. Mahendra, the tour manager, who was available 24/7 by phone for whatever I would need. He actually welcomed me twice: I spent a week in an Ashram after my tour and in my return he was at the Delhi airport waiting with a car to take me from the Domestic flights Terminal to the International Terminal (which are far from each other). A key feature of my trip success was Mr. Divendra, the most skilled driver (traffic in India requires Samurai skills!) who would take me wherever I would like to, whenever I would like to. Another highlight was Mr. Govind, a guide born at Jaipur, who took me (at my request) to receive a blessing at the temple in which his family worships for generations. I arrived back home two days ago, safe and sound, having met wonderful people, seen unforgettable places and having had a lifetime experience. All I think about is when I will be able to go back to India.

Despite the difficulties experienced through Covid pandemic, Indian Destination Experts have consistently given us excellent service. Researched alternative trips, given options to carry over to this year from 2020 and have now offered a full refund as travel to our destination continues not to be possible. Their service has been excellent throughout in very difficult circumstances. Our holiday to Rajasthan had to be postponed first because of Covid.
It has been an excellent experience touring Rajasthan with Indian Destination Experts. We visited Agra, Jaipur, Udaipur, Jodhpur and Jaisalmer in 9 days - a lot to cover as we wanted to experience the diversity that Rajasthan had to offer. From the initial email communications in planning our trip, Rahul was most professional in answering all our queries, providing useful information on accommodation and best places to visit. Despite many changes to our itinerary (we eventually flew from Jaipur to Udaipur instead of driving), Rahul was patient and accommodating throughout.

Tufel is an attentive and cautious driver who has internalized the sensitivity of Indian road traffic and is calm, friendly, always in good spirits and always ready to stop for a beautiful scenery, a rare animal or a hidden stepwell.
We felt very comfortable and safe with him, he became dear to us during this trip - we can warmly recommend him.

Would highly recommend Indian Destination Experts as we have previously travelled with them (for quite a few years)
The customer service they provide both here and abroad is excellent, on occasions we have contacted them when on a trip to help solve a problem and they always respond quickly and efficiently.
Why choose another agent when we already have the best!

We booked Manoj to show us around Delhi and we were so impressed that we ended up using him later in our trip in Jaipur and Agra. Manoj was very knowledgeable and showed us some great sights and took us to some great restaurants! He pointed out things that if we were sightseeing by ourselves we wouldn't have noticed. He took us to some great restaurants and offered us tips on staying safe when out and about, and introduced us to some great local restaurants which we again wouldn't have known about if it wasn't for him.

The car and van we used were clean and fully air conditioned, and Manoj always ensured we had cold bottled water to keep us going, which in a heatwave was well appreciated!

I would recommend Manoj to everybody who is looking for a private tour in the region, and we look forward to seeing him next time!

Our group went on a customized Old Delhi food tour in February 2022; it was a fantastic tour. We got to taste the tremendous and safe variety of street food (They listen to your preferences) and experience the spice markets. Delhi by Locals created a fabulous, fun, and well-planned experience. Also, they organized our day trip to Agra in March, visiting the Taj Mahal and Agra Fort. They provided us with a terrific guide Mukesh, driver Sandeep; we ate at a great restaurant and had an unforgettable magical experience. HIRE Delhi by locals- I highly recommend this team in Delhi, India. You will not be disappointed, and it will make your trip even more memorable. BONUS, they even picked us up from the airport and dropped us off!!! Thanks again, and we will be back!

I attended a few of Vidhi's yoga classes and really enjoyed his teaching style. He takes his time to explain everything and focuses on preparing the body for meditation which is part of each class at the end.
I also had a chakra healing session with him. Before the session I felt very overwhelmed by many heavy emotions and anxieties. After a few days I started feeling better and the emotions and thoughts became much lighter, like they were far away somehow and didn't bother me so much.
I really recommend his classes and therapy sessions to anyone.
