Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What travellers are saying
- joellen0713Connecticut266 contributionsThis is a place Delhi-ites go to relax and escape the craziness of the city. The gardens and buildings have been beautifully restored and are a pleasure to walk around but what I loved most was seeing local people out enjoying themselves. We visited on a Saturday and the park was full of people having picnics, playing bingo, taking selfies, playing frisbee. It was great to see another side of Delhi. It is very near the Lodhi Gardens and Humayan’s Tomb and the three together make for a great day.Written 4 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Suchig06New Delhi, India594 contributionsOne of the best childhood memories with all cousins and elders were created here. Simple park, safe and clean, ample swings and very good walk ways. A water pool stretching within the park used to have water and a dummy crocodile (till 1995). The aquarium zone has been fun and that can be made better - add a voice feature to learn about stored fishes. May be put some mechanical puppets, clowns, traditional (life-size) dolls, folks etc. People can pose with them and take photos.
Appu Ghar used to have a clown which used to laugh and move after we dropped in a coin. something like this!
I hope the authorities never make it a contemporary westernized unsafe park in the name of modernization.
The park is walking distance from India Gate and has easy access.
Old park culture symbolizes the purest love and affection we had as kids towards fellow kids and animals in the parks around us.Written 4 February 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Gaurav ManuNew Delhi, India137 contributionsIt is based on the concept of Japanese Garden, and it is landscaped well with plethora of flora & fauna.
You can spend an entire day here; however, it is quite a popular place so tends to get pretty crowded. So, it is not as quite or serene as you would want such place to be.
Nevertheless, good place to visit and spend some time.Written 31 August 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Pratyush G29 contributionsExcellent vast open green park. Used by thousands of people everyday to walk, run exercise and play. Everything about it is superb except cleanliness. Toilets are filthy and dark, teeming with mosquitoes. Request dda and concerned authorities to look into the matter. It's shocking to see such poor maintenence of public place in today's times!! See pics.Written 15 April 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

- Madhulika LNoida, India4,689 contributionsUnlike more formal parks (even the not-too-far off Nehru Park among them), Buddha Jayanti Park is a cross between the wild and the tamed. It is located in part of what is known as the Central Ridge of the Delhi Ridge, and while the more intrepid of Delhi’s naturalists would do best to wander right off the roads and into the forested scrub, for those of us who are less adventurous but would like to experience at least some of the Ridge, this is a good place to start.
Buddha Jayanti Park, of course, draws its name from the Buddha, and so there is some presence of the Buddha and his teachings. Every now and then, there are stone slabs with excerpts from his teachings inscribed on them, and close to Gate No. 1, there is even a large gilded Buddha statue in a pavilion. Unfortunately, in an attempt to protect this, the authorities have surrounded it on all sides with clear plastic, which robs it of its beauty.
My husband, daughter and I visited on a monsoon afternoon. It was not raining, but it was quite humid, so perhaps that was why there were very few people around: we pretty much wandered where we liked after we’d parked in the (paid) parking lot inside Gate 1. Paths make their way all through the park, and there are lots of trees, both endemic as well as exotic: fried egg tree, plumeria, amaltas, sicklebush, gaub persimmon, dhak (palash or flame of the forest), gulmohar, peepal, agave, several species of cactus (in a separate cactus patch), several species of palm (in a palm grove) and so on. For a tree lover, this is a very rewarding place.
It’s also worth visiting if you love nature in general: there are plenty of birds around (in the brief while we spent here here, we saw lapwings, kingfishers, barbets, parakeets, and more), and the very fact that you can get right in amongst the trees makes it an adventure.
No entry fee is charged. There are benches and some scattered dustbins. Just inside Gate 1 is an ice cream cart (the vendor informed us that further on, near Gate 2, there’s also a restaurant, but we didn’t confirm this, since we didn’t go that far).Written 31 August 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. It was laid out near Kashmiri Gate in the mid-18th century, under the aegis of Qudsia Begum, the chief consort of the Mughal Emperor Mohammad Shah. Qudsia Bagh, because of its location near Kashmiri Gate, came under heavy shelling during the Uprising of 1857, when a decisive battle was fought here between the British and the freedom fighters. The marks of cannonballs can still be seen on the three-domed mosque that lies at the end of the garden (the mosque has recently been fenced off on the garden side, so if you want to visit it, you have to walk out of the garden, onto the main road, and enter the mosque from the road).
Besides the mosque, though, there are two other historical buildings here: the gate of the garden (rather shabby, but with signs of beautiful carved red sandstone), and the baradari (originally an open-sided rectangular garden pavilion, later bricked up and converted into a closed chamber by the British, who also added a semi-circular staircase outside).
In addition, the garden has an outdoor gym and play area (both next to the baradari). There are quiet paths, lawns, lots of trees, flowering shrubs, a rose garden (beside the mosque) and birds aplenty. A quiet, serene place.Written 1 November 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
