What travellers are saying
- 945alinabBucharest, Romania438 contributionsIt was a nice experience but the prices are very big even for Europe. Yes it is wood and it is handmade, but is just too much!Written 29 March 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Maria L1 contributionWe spent a good time in Sigiriya and we travelled around the area. We went to Dambulla, Polonnaruwa and then to Negombo. All together with Isuranga, our tour driver. I highly recommend him! He showed us around and drove us places we didn't planned to go. The experience exceeded our expectations. We also had a nice evening playing Carrom, a Sri Lankan game. We had an amazing time.Written 11 January 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Ruth CAylesbury, UK773 contributionsI just dropped by out of interest on a walk out of town. I wandered around the people making crafts and the main shop and enjoyed the fact that nobody hassled me at all. Interesting place if you have spare time.Written 28 February 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.

- SnookyJBournemouth, UK117 contributionsWe wandered into this place on arrival in Sigiriya and got chatting to Rosi who makes the batik. She explained the process to us and invited us to look around without obligation to buy. We asked her about the taxi service and she provided us with prices, again without obligation. The next day we went back and booked a morning trip to Polonnanwra and an afternoon jeep safari to see the elephants. This was a very sucessful day, so we asked her to quote us for a trip to Dambulla the next day followed by a transfer to Kandy the day after that. She advised that it would be cheaper to visit Dambulla by tuk-tuk and provided us with a great driver who gave us his full attention and provided us with a great trip. We also had a comfortable air-conditioned car with a friendly driver to take us to Kandy. Thank you to Rosi and her drivers.Written 10 March 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Phil & Theresa3 contributionsWhat a treasure trove! The owner was lovely, with no sales push, and very helpful. The demonstration of different types of wood was very informative along with the crafts people taking time to show their skills. A must visit on your Sri Lankan TourWritten 20 April 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Umang AMumbai, India722 contributionsSri Lanka is famous for semi precious stones as well. The most famous city is Kandy for same but this place also offer good varietyWritten 23 September 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Scottishlady1962Stirling, UK78 contributionsSmall shop, pleasant staff, goods well presented, nice selection of tops, scarves, and small fabric items. Prices are reasonable but the same goods can be found throughout Sri Lanka. If you don't have lots of time probably a good idea to buy here if something takes your eye.Written 3 November 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Umang AMumbai, India722 contributionsSri Lanka offer so many variety to buy as souvenier, be it wood art, paintings, leather stuff, minerals, gems, spices..... I suggest to go to government shop rather visiting local shops.Written 24 September 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
