Our family of six took this excursion a couple of days ago. Marcela was incredible. Very informative, kind, generous (giving up her seat and taking care of one of us who suffered from altitude illness). I highly recommend this trip. Furthermore, Martin, who organizes these trips, is super helpful, answering our many questions and ensuring our experience is what we want. Do not hesitate to book a tour with this company and ask for Marcela!

The mountains were absolutely beautiful and breathtaking. I would love to go back. However, if it is cloudy, the colors will not show. The tour included other places. The bus broke down on the way back snd we were delayed a couple hours. I was disappointed that Nordic didn’t do anything for us. The original ad showed we got snacks and a couple admissions paid, but it included no admissions and the snd CJ was a small cookie.

On today's full-day trip to Humahuaca with Hornocal, Soledad accompanied us. Informative, attentive to everyone. She is wonderful.
It is worth seeing those beautiful mountains, taking a look at them and the winding road from 4350m. There is little time, and it would be great to stay longer and walk through the charming streets of those small towns.

Good full day trip out of Salta. The drive up through the mountain valley is nice and scenic but beware, you'll be driving up and up to fairly high elevation on windy roads (4,200m or 13,600+ ft). Pumamarca is a lovely small town nestled in beautiful colored mountains. Its town square plaza is full of tourist vendors selling stuff and there are some good small restaurants around. A nice nearby hike with viewpoints is available. The Salinas (salt flats) is picturesque but there can be many people out there alongside you (everyone trying to get that perfect Instagram selfie). Also, be prepared for very bright almost blinding white from the white salt (sun screen is a must). If you haven't been to salt flats before I would recommend this day trip.

We took this tour that lasted the whole day. We felt it was worth it as we had the opportunity to visit several villages along the way. They are villages surrounded by mountains and when you arrive you will notice that many have establishments specifically to sell souvenirs and gifts to tourists. On the one hand it was good because we stopped at several places and when we arrived at them they gave us the freedom to wander around a little. But on the other hand, because there were so many short stops (about 30 minutes), it meant that we didn't have time to do almost anything and we didn't really know what to do because we were afraid of going too far and being late getting back to the transport. Another positive point is the tour guide who told stories along the way. At the lunch stop, they took us to a specific restaurant along with the whole group. I paid around 12 thousand pesos for a dish with starter, main course and dessert. I purchased the tour on their website.

If you speak english, you will get half the informations compare to spanish. I understand spanish and believe me, what they say in spanish is much more complete than in english. 10 minutes explainations in spanish then 2 minutes in English. For the 3 trips we were 1 to 3 english speaking couples. All the informations are in spanish (pick up time by e-mail, conditions of sales...) I should have understood it seeing the whole web site in spanish only ... Guides are probably not qualified. The only guide I saw wearing a badge was from another company... Make the excursions with another company because the places were beautiful. I do not recommend this company.

We chose Poncho Tours from the great online reviews & because we were concerned about driving during the rainy season & the possible state of the roads. What a great choice. Nick helped in advance with advice on our itinerary and what to expect & we did the 3 days Humahuaca with an extra day so we could do a loop via Susques. Ale our driver & guide did a a fantastic job and we had an incredible 4 days from Salta exploring Tilcara, Cascada del Diablo, Humahuaca, 14 coloured mountains, Qubrada de las Señoritas, 7 coloured hill & Purmamarca, Salinas Grande, Susques then the amazing Route 40 with a stop at the thermal waters near the volcán Tuzgle, the train to the clouds at San Antoniode los Cobres, & ruins at Tastil before getting back to Salta. The views along Route 40 are truly spectacular but we were very glad we weren’t driving ourselves. Ale negotiated the roads post storms, was great company and really made the 4 days a success. Thank you - Mike & Cath

Tangol tours did not show up. No cancellation notice. No request to reschedule. They simple did not show up. Lost a whole day in the area. Would not recommend booking anything with Tangol for obvious reasons.

We asked Five Senses to organise a self-drive tour for us to Iguazu. They suggested we could also stop at Esteros del Iberá for a couple of days. Two days in a swamp? Actually proved to be the highlight of the trip. The wetlands are host to so many animals and birds. The hotel was fabulous, the the food terrific and the excursions amazing. We were treated like royalty. Trust the experts. Iguazu was terrific too.
Five Senses are highly recommended. Good communications, excellent local knowledge, good value for money.
