Our family had a great time on this tour. Rina is an excellent and knowledgeable tour guide who provided such an informative tour sharing many interesting facts about Kyoto and Japanese culture. She is also so nice and professional and made our tour so enjoyable.

My husband and I attended the Kyoto Samurai Experience on 10 March and highly recommend. The experience is held in a traditional dwelling once lived in by a Samurai and is very authentic and professional. After being assisted into the traditional attire, you are given a brief history by an English speaking assistant (who interprets for the duration of the experience) and watch a display from the samurai before splitting into groups for your sword training, starting with wooden swords, before progressing to a real sword. Safety is taken seriously and the whole experience was fun and informative They also take photos of you in action and share with you after the experience (for no additional fee) Don’t hesitate- it was one of the best things we did while in Japan.

Rei did a very good job and explained a lot of details about every stop we made. As it was only our group of 3, we had more or less a private tour. Although the weather was cold, wet and windy, Rei was in very good mood, kind, and showed us beautiful places!

Shizuka was an amazing tour guide! She was fun, insightful, and thoughtful for all of her guests. She was helpful, kind and willing to share tidbits about life in this amazing city. My partner and I enjoy her cultural insights. The tour stops were genuinely unique. It was refreshing to get an insiders view from her own neighborhood. We highly recommend this adventure for anyone looking for intimate knowledge of the area.

Aron was wonderful at sharing tidbits of local lore and cultural advice. I enjoyed our tour with him and thought it was time and money well-spent. Would recommend to anyone with a limited amount of time to see Arashiyama!

What better way to explore a new city then a food tour? Evening was well paced and just the right amount of time. Food was delicious and the staff was friendly at each location. Our tour guide explained the food along with additional facts on the city- went above & beyond giving us additional recommendations (thank you Yuma!)

This was a very good experience. Yushin Sensei is a truly skilled katana master. It was very impressive to experience the first kata ourselves and watch Yushin Sensei perform more advanced katas by himself. We just tasted a bit of the art and the richness of this equally beautiful and deadly cultural samurai heritage but even that was experience that I will never forget.
