What travellers are saying
- Dori MMuskegon, MI78 contributionsEnjoy viewing the opulence of the Czars. I hope you still have money to visit as I did. But enjoy it quickly because your fearless leader is destroying your country by destroying your neighbors to the west. Your money is worth nothing and you can earn $1M for killing fearless leader! You will be held accountable and allowed no where else in the world.Written 8 April 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Lilya TLos Angeles, CA12 contributionsThe Faberge Museum is a little Gem that's a must while visiting St. Petersburg. It has the largest collection (to my knowledge) of Faberge Eggs and other masterpieces crafted by Karl Faberge.Written 24 January 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.

To be able to come to St Petersburg and to see Swan Lake performed by the Bolshoi ballet troupe at the famous and historic Mikhailovsky Theater was indescribable.

Certainly exceeded my imagination and perception about art with clever, fun and surprising designs!
The location was easily accessible, the excursions was affordable and took approx. less than one hour. Definitely worth visiting!
Visit in the shadow museum can be easily combined with Hermitage, Russian state museum or Faberge museum etc. because of the close proximity.
Lastly, the museum has hilarious “merch” that can be bought from the reception.Written 28 July 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - Alexander_KudrinSamara, Russia8,749 contributionsThe large beautiful building of the museum amazes with its monumentality from the entrance, when you find yourself in a huge hall with high reliefs of representatives of different peoples of Russia.
Indeed, this is a real palace!
A large exposition, which is generally similar to most local history museums scattered across Russia, but collected in one place, so you can get acquainted with the life of the inhabitants of the most remote corners of our country. Security requirements - present a QR code, measure the temperature at the entrance.Written 3 January 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - Naija MEngland, UK601 contributionsVisiting Pushkin’s home, now a museum, proved to be one of the highlights of my trip to St Petersburg. The rooms are beautifully maintained and it really does feel like you’re visiting someone’s house. I highly recommend using the audio guide, it’s highly informative but doesn’t bore you with millions of facts. The apartment is a short walk from the Hermitage.Written 24 October 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- RudSt. Petersburg, Russia50 contributionsAn interesting few hours. Take your time to stroll through. Suprises and facts, big and small. Be prepared though as most is in Russian only. So bring a local friend. Great fun.Written 19 January 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Alexander_KudrinSamara, Russia8,749 contributionsOne of the most interesting places in St. Petersburg.
The former imperial palace in the center of the city was commissioned by Emperor Paul I, as a castle on the water, symbolizing the castles of the Knights of Malta.
The castle has two names - Mikhailovsky or Engineering castle. This is the rare case when the palace was named not after the owner, but in honor of St. Michael.
Even an external examination gives an idea of the scale of the building. Bridges thrown over artificial moats lead to the castle. In front of the castle there is a monument to Paul's great-grandfather - Peter the Great.
Definitely worth a visit!Written 10 January 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - Maria PMaidstone, UK201 contributionsAlso known as "Dom Knigi" (House of Books). The building is beautiful and if you have time to spare, then do wander around because there are lots of interesting books. There is a cafe on the second floor, good luck with finding a table but if you do then it is worthwhile just sitting for a few minutes enjoying a coffee and people watching.Written 11 December 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.

It was really fun and hands on. There are cloths to try on and toys as well as tv clips and music. I highly recommend the museum as one to visit.Written 15 March 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
