The Hermitage Museum is truly one of the most renowned art museums in the world. Housed in the stunning Winter Palace, it boasts an extraordinary collection of over 2.7 million exhibits, featuring some of the greatest works of art in history. The grandeur of the museum itself, combined with the wealth of masterpieces it holds, makes it an unforgettable experience for any art lover. A visit here is a journey through time and culture, offering both historical insights and artistic brilliance.

Located on the southern shores of the Gulf of Finland, the Peterhof Palace was originally built as a response to the Palace of Versailles and as a gift from Peter the Great to his wife, Catherine I.

Intended as a summer residence for the royal family, the palace and its surrounding gardens are renowned for their grandeur and beauty.

Featuring meticulously designed gardens adorned with golden statues and dancing fountains, Peterhof stands as one of the finest examples of European gardens.

Divided into upper and lower gardens, with the main palace situated between them, the complex boasts a staggering 255 bronze statues and 64 gravity-fed fountains.

Sadly, the palace suffered significant damage during World War II, but thanks to extensive restoration efforts, it has been returned to its former glory.

Both the palace and the park are legendary. Which one can I tell you, you should come and see for yourself. There is already a constant flow of people. The gardens and fountains are worth seeing.

Very enchanting look at the different regions of Russia. Great detail went into the buildings, bridges, etc. The facility is 800 m2 of beauty. The display even changes the lighting to simulate day and night. The transition is breath taking. It takes a small army of technicians to make the whole thing work. Working trains, moving cars on the highways, and many other moving displays make this a very relaxing way to spend a couple hours. Good for adults and kids will love it too.

Great place to visit to see nice performances by russian artists. We have visited "Rain/Dojdz" performace which was really interesting from beginning to the end. The actors are really impresive. I can highly recommend this place if you are looking for theatre (not opera or ballet) and you understand russian.

We went to this church as it was being used to bless food offerings made by the rich to be donated to the poor. They were preparing the large Easter event with lights and other elements. The inside of the Church of the Spilled Blood is a total contrast.

The State Russian Museum is the largest collection of Russian art in the world. The main building of the museum is located in the Mikhailovsky Palace in the center of St. Petersburg.
The museum was created by personal decree of Emperor Nicholas II on April 13, 1895. The official opening of the museum took place on March 7, 1898.
Of particular note is the collection of icons in the section of ancient Russian art, which presents works by Andrei Rublev, Dionisy, Simon Ushakov and other remarkable Russian masters.
In the collection of works of fine art of the 18th - the first half of the 19th centuries, paintings by Fyodor Bruni, Karl Bryullov and Dmitry Levitsky make an unforgettable impression.
In the collection of the second half of the 19th century, it is difficult to look away from almost all the works, but I was most struck by the paintings of Ivan Aivazovsky, Ilya Repin, Viktor Vasnetsov and Vasily Surikov.
The collection of the late 19th century - early 20th century also has a whole scattering of wonderful works, but pay special attention to the works of Valentin Serov, Mikhail Vrubel, Konstantin Somov and Kuzma Petrov-Vodkin.
In general - go and enjoy the beautiful works of Russian art!
