Very well organised tour along hidden gems of this lovely city, Sergei was an excellent guide. He went far and beyond to make our trip unforgettable. - Gary H1 contributionHad a great "safari" with Olga at "Zov Tigre", looking for the illusive tiger. What an adventure!!! After a few days in the wilderness, back to warm showers & viewing towers looking for bears. Great food, great fun, great experience. Love to go back in winter one year, looking for tigers & leopards.

Everyone else was Russian: 13 companions plus 3 drivers and our guide Liza. We were thrilled to be part of a very local group of eco travellers. They all treated us so warmly, politely and patiently. Liza's English is fabulous and she taught us so much about the region's history, culture, geology, fauna and flora. Pyotr too was a patient, knowledgeable guide with expertise in birds. Many in our group spoke English and were very enjoyable company. Our drivers were always happy to engage with us and were keen to learn some English. We also learnt some Russian in the short time available to us. This region is achingly beautiful, we covered a lot of territory from Southwestern to Central and Northern Primorsky Krai. You need a very good level of fitness to enjoy this tour. When not camping we stayed in their eco lodge at Terney which the tour owners build themselves. I learnt the expression "golden hands" which refers to an ability to fix any problem and it was certainly true of our drivers. No issue they encountered with their vehicles or the terrain could defeat them and we remained on schedule the whole time. Food wise, as a non red meat eater, I was well catered for and thrilled with the amount of fish on offer. Leaving the tour after 11 nights and 1 day together felt like leaving our family.

They weren’t pushy, so I sat down. I’m glad it worked out!
I could do basic russian, so they informed me about a russian speaking group tour to a mountain. It worked out to a reasonable RUB2400 (similar to what we paid to climb Batur in Bali). The lady was helpful in giving me the instructions in English beforehand so I could understand what their guide/instructor Rodion was saying during the trip. Everything was done professionally: timings were adhered to, and headcount were frequent. other tourists were happy to translate essential info too (like the names of beetles and plants).
