Saint Basil's Cathedral, is an Orthodox church, built in 1561. It is having a fairy tale appearance, that what makes it alluring. I had the chance to go inside with Valentina, a local guide from “Walks with Folks”. Valentina picked me up from my hotel and we reached the Red Square for a morning tour. Valentina was well informed with rich background. She spoke fluent English with varied vocabulary. She spoke like a history professor. It was like a maze inside the Cathedral with floral design in different chapels. Truly unusual interior.

From there it was a short walk to the Kremlin complex although a couple of busy roads had to be crossed.
Due to the requirement to have a PCR test no longer than 24 hours before visiting many indoor attractions, my visit was limited to outdoor viewing.
The buildings were spectacular including gold domed churches, towers, statues and the stunning St Basil’s cathedral.
I also enjoyed walking through the snow covered Alexander Park and saw the Lenin library.

It's absolutely spectacular. surrounded by The Kremlin, St Basil Cathedral, Lenin Mausoleum and the GUM. you can feel the history in Red Square!

I recommend the Great Castle because it can see the architecture and life of Russia during Catherine the Second. The other two castles are ok, if you are interested in art be sure to visit them. There is a breathtaking golden hall in the Great Castle. Certainly the whole park is beautiful, in one part there is a lake around which one can remember and rest. The performers are the best in the world, and they have a great selection of shows, Book in advance and I would advice to get tickets through their website for fair ticket prices. You can try and combine your visit but for more joy I would recommend to schedule Neskuchny sad as a separate visit. It is nice to go there during hot summer day to relax and slow walk with a stop in a coffee shop. Very recommend going there in early Fall to enjoy yellow-orange-red leaves foliage.
