Visiting St. Basil’s Cathedral is a must to all tourists to Moscow, because it is a iconic symbol of the city. Saint Basil's Cathedral, is an Orthodox church, built in 1561. It is having a fairy tale appearance, that what makes it alluring. I had the chance to go inside with Valentina, a local guide from “Walks with Folks”. Valentina picked me up from my hotel and we reached the Red Square for a morning tour. Valentina was well informed with rich background. She spoke fluent English with varied vocabulary. She spoke like a history professor. It was like a maze inside the Cathedral with floral design in different chapels. Truly unusual interior.

    SEE photos.

I took the red metro line 1 to Biblioteka Imeni Lenina then walked through to the exit on the grey metro line 9 station Borovitskaya.

From there it was a short walk to the Kremlin complex although a couple of busy roads had to be crossed.

Due to the requirement to have a PCR test no longer than 24 hours before visiting many indoor attractions, my visit was limited to outdoor viewing.

The buildings were spectacular including gold domed churches, towers, statues and the stunning St Basil’s cathedral.

I also enjoyed walking through the snow covered Alexander Park and saw the Lenin library.

Very interesting and I must revisit to see the indoor attractions when the pandemic allows.

The park is huge and has several buildings that can be visited. I recommend the Great Castle because it can see the architecture and life of Russia during Catherine the Second. The other two castles are ok, if you are interested in art be sure to visit them. There is a breathtaking golden hall in the Great Castle. Certainly the whole park is beautiful, in one part there is a lake around which one can remember and rest. There is a miniature museum in one section, but we have not visited it.

The Bolshoi Theater is located in the heart of Magical Moscow! The building is beautiful, the decoration is spectacular. It's a must experience. The performers are the best in the world, and they have a great selection of shows, Book in advance and I would advice to get tickets through their website for fair ticket prices. Enjoy!

The classic weekend location in summer and very well-known for many good installations for kids. It‘s always worth a walk when the weather is good. During this time (still summer holidays) it’s not crowded and the waiting time for attractive installations is short.

Beautiful and unique manor house, grounds/gardens and outer buildings- it is quiet and away from the hustle and bustle of the city.

I visited the Kremlin and the cathedrals. They are all beautiful. But I was a bit surprised of the status of the whole area, there is a big need of restoration in all the cathedrals- surprising for this prime tourist site, but still worth a visit.

That chunk of territory now is a part of Gorky park. You can try and combine your visit but for more joy I would recommend to schedule Neskuchny sad as a separate visit. It is nice to go there during hot summer day to relax and slow walk with a stop in a coffee shop. Very recommend going there in early Fall to enjoy yellow-orange-red leaves foliage. The bottom line - it is relaxation, slow, quiet time with natural beauty!

I specially write in English so that foreign guests of Moscow know what an interesting, beautiful, tasty place there is in the center of Moscow. Orangery, exhibitions, restaurants. All this will leave guests only positive

This small cozy park is one of Moscow’s most romantic locations with fountains, playgrounds and cafés. It was founded in 1894.
The Park features a number of theatres - Hermitage (located in a late 19th-century building), Sphere and New Opera – and an open-air stage.
Popular among all Lovebirds is the Heart of ❤️, a monument to all lovers!

Very beautiful place - not as grandiose as Bolshoi, but still has a lot to show. I watched the ballet "Copellia" and was swept of my feet. the performance was amazing, the best I have ever seen.
