Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The tour was good, stop at every place they promised. Except the time allow at the Mt Fuji 5th Station, it was too short; we had only 20 minutes instead of the 30 minutes, it took 5 minutes just to get off the bus with a full load of passengers. Very friendly staff and the bus was very clean.

Marie was a great tour guide and even though we had bad weather the Tour team did everything they could to make sure we did the full tour. Very well organized - exactly as advertised. Marie made the tour extra interesting by providing insight into the Japanese lifestyle.

We took a one day tour to see Mt Fuji up close. Our guide Yoshimi was very good taking us to all the best vantage points for photos to capture our families memories of that perfect day with the sacred mountain

Our travel guide, Maz, was very punctual, friendly and extremely knowledgeable. He was able to answer all our questions and helped customize the experience based on our preferences and timing. I would highly recommend him again to any family or friends visiting Tokyo and Makone.

Our day started at the Keio hotel , trying to find which of the 9 Sunrise buses to Hakone was ours. Once sorted and on board, it felt like a cramped school bus. After 90 minutes they gave us a 15 min bathroom break and we could see Mt Fuji in the distance. Then it was back on the bus for another 45 minutes to the 4th station of Mt Fuji. (Despite advertising the 5th station which rarely opens until May ) . We could see glimpses of the valley below through the fog and cloud during the 10 minute allocated stop then it was back on the bus for another 40 minutes to “lunch”. We were given basic bento style meals ( cold fried chicken and beef hotpot) which had no Japanese authenticity or taste. Luckily there were vending machines nearby. Then another 1 hr in the bus to the skyway gondola. The gondola trip up the hill lasted 5 minutes and we were allocated just 10 minutes to take photos of the lake before heading back down. We were then rushed onto a large catamaran boat for a 16 minute “cruise” across the lake. The bus met us there and took us the final 30 minutes to the Shinkansen station and back to Tokyo.
Our group filled every seat on the bus, so it was easy to check if everyone was back. However, our host insisted on walking the aisle with a counter 3 times to ensure we were all on board! This triple checking procedure occurred every time we stopped, adding a cumulative 40 minutes to our trip and effectively killing any chance of actually enjoying the very brief stops. Every time we had to reboard the bus , we had to form lines like school children while we were triple counted. The total time spent outside the bus for the entire day was approximately 45 minutes plus lunch stop. If you like being cramped in a small vehicle for 6 hrs and being treated like a 4 yr old, then this is the trip for you. Never again for me. Poor value and over bearing control of a small group.

This was my first time in Hakone, and the two-day tour was well-organized from start to finish! Staying in a ryokan was a fantastic way to immerse ourselves in Japanese culture. The second day was free for exploration, but our guide's detailed instructions made it easy to navigate Hakone on our own. Highly recommended!

Spectacular wonderful and thoughtful, I could not recommend them anymore highly. We were contacted by Miyuki from HM travels, the detail the went to ensure our tour was perfect for us was amazing, weather was factored in and alternative options put to us, they asked what we had already done and what other things we wished to do and they changed the plan to accommodate.

The trail and sights were gorgeous and Akihiro was such a good guide! He spoke great English, shared the history of the area, and was good company. Due to my schedule, we started late and I wanted to return to my hotel by a certain time. Akihiro was so considerate and flexible. He also recommended hotels and onsen (even contacting one for me for information) and explained the bus schedules and cost. If I ever return to Japan, I'd be lucky to find another guide like Akihiro.

The communication was horrible with the company. They asked to communicate only through Viator and then wouldn't respond to questions we had and confirmation of our tour. They canceled the tour 11:00 pm the night before. We believe they double booked. Thats bad business. Beware of this company, never book with them!
