- tdwtdwSan Francisco21 contributionsThe Natural History Museum should be deleted from the tour. At the US $10 admission price, it simply isn't worth it. They should have paid me to go there! The balance of the tour is okay. The guide is very good, very knowledgeable. The Railway Museum is a highlight of the tour. Also, the Nesbitt Castle is excellent, and it's a nice thing to enjoy at the end of the tour. - K M1 contributionWe had an amazing trip tracking white rhinos with Bushmen Travel in Matobo National Park! The experience was both thrilling and humbling as we walked through the bush guided by Blessing, whose expertise and passion made it unforgettable. Getting so close to these majestic creatures in their natural habitat was truly magical. We also learned about the incredible efforts of the park rangers who protect these endangered animals, which gave us a deeper appreciation for conservation. The stunning landscapes and a beautiful sunset with sundowners made the day even more special. On the day I went with Lesley and Valentine, they were both very knowledgeable about the park and history of Zim. I have a very pleasant visit. - Diane L11 contributionsWe booked The Best of Matopos tour with Bushmen Travel and had Blessing as our guide. We had an unforgettable tour tracking white rhinos on foot in the bush. Our experience was very exciting and thrilling, not to mention a total adrenaline rush when we were mock charged by a male rhino. Blessing was an excellent guide, and always put safety first! His passion and expertise made the tour even more enjoyable. He was very knowledgeable about the rhinos and everything related to Matopos National Park! We were also very awe struck by the amazing views at Worldsview! Bonisa Excursions provided us with a very comfy bus, and Lesley was a great tour guide, which made our trip more enjoyable. They know everything and everyone in the region, and will design you a perfect tour, personalized to what you are interested in. As a solo traveler, it's sometimes hard in Zimbabwe to do tours, but I got exactly what I wanted. It would be even better if the roads could be repaired so that more of the caves could be explored - a 4x4 would also help. My guide, Thembo, did his best to make sure I saw everything, and that included hauling me up some of the more difficult rocks! He was also very knowledgeable and interesting. - Tammy KTampa, FL21 contributionsI used Bushmen Travel Company for two tours - Great Zimbabwe and Best of Matobo. I was impressed with both. Prior to the tours, I had prompt, informative responses to questions I emailed. Blessing was my guide to Matobo and driver to Great Zimbabwe (where I took a tour with a local guide). Great Zimbabwe was amazing! I loved visiting the Hill and sitting on the king's throne. Tech was my local guide, who was informative and patient (there was steep incline to the top) as I slowly made my way to the top. Breakfast and lunch was great. - Thelma1 contributionWe took the two day trip from Bulawayo to the Great Zimbabwe and it was worth every minute. Our journey started on time and we enjoyed the road trip. We had asked for some local snacks and found the one ones rhey had picked for us quite pleasant. I understand they are indehenous to Zimbabwe. Once we got there the guide that Bonisa Excursions assigned to us was very knowledgeable. The sunsets and accommodation was cosy, clean and warm. We are planning our next trip to Victoria Falls and will book with this company again. - shar0nleahyKettering, UK4 contributionsI thoroughly enjoyed my trip to the Great Zimbabwe with This and That Safaris. Along the way, Thembi (my guide) pointed out the first road built in Zimbabwe, the gold mining towns, the Chinese factories, etc. Although the drive was a long one, this added a lot of interest to the journey.
At the Great Zimbabwe site, Thembi handed me over to one of the official guides who was very knowledgeable about the archaeology and history as well as the environment. I just wish that we had more time at the museum, however.
I should also add that Thembi went the extra mile to sort out the payment for the trip, as it seems that his bank had problems with dealing with the international transaction.
Aside from the payment issue, there are a couple of other areas for improvement, however:
• Thembi should have sorted out the drinks and lunch BEFORE the trip commenced rather than after he picked me up; this added to the length of the journey.
• As stated above I wish that we could have spent more time in the museum; this could have happened had we not spent time sorting out the drinks and lunch during the trip.
