Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What travellers are saying
- John the cyclistChiang Mai, Thailand63 contributionsCame to Ban Phe with the express intention of visiting the aquarium and was not disappointed. Delighted to see that the aquarium actively creates education and awareness regarding sustainable fishing and ocean management practices. A visitor can get through the aquarium in 30 minutes or alternatively if someone is interested enough in marine life and learning more about it then one could easily spend a couple of hours absorbing the education points around the aquarium.Written 11 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Travel&DiveBan Pong, Thailand1,798 contributionsJust a typical beach that's is unusually uncrowded!! As with all beaches around the world it is littered with plastic, old shoes etc but this is common place these days. It does look like they have a clean up but the ocean will still throw up the trash that we all discard..
Along the beach you will find food stalls that have sun shades, deck chairs and plenty of designated roadside parking. The water looks surprisingly clean compared to Pattaya.
Not many dogs around to, but the one we saw was very friendly.
A lot of seafood being sold at the food stalls but with how quiet it is here the seafood will be hit and miss on how fresh it is! My girlfriend took some crabs and they had a mix of old/fresh crabs. At 550b kg prepared it's not expensive and each shop will be different prices.
Overall a nice beach to go to if you want that uncrowded feel but still have everything you need for a decent day out.Written 4 February 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. On the downside, meat there is not always the cheapest, because supermarket chains can afford to buy in bulk and discount.
But on the upside, the supermarkets' butchery departments offer meat that is already cut and in many cases pre-packaged, so you have no options if you want a different cut.
For example, Thai's like pork ribs cut into 4 or 5 cm lengths. I like to buy the whole ribs, which I then marinade and barbecue. So I buy them, the whole rib side at a time, from Star Fresh Market.
Also the supermarkets do not offer many options, other than frozen products, when it comes to beef. I have now found a beef butcher at Star Fresh Market who I can rely upon to sell me a tender piece of beef for roasting, instead of the usual beef sold in Thailand that is as tough as old boot leather.
And the prices really are cheap. Pork loin in Australia costs between $20 to $30. At Star Fresh Market I can buy it for the equivalent of $6 - $7.Written 15 February 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - SamateHelsinki, Finland99 contributionsHard to find, but definitely worth visiting. One hour walk and you get the idea of mangrove forest. Good wooden path. Great tower to watch sights. - 671jodiePerth, Australia87 contributionsWe attended the market on a Tuesday night. All the stall holders are friendly and very welcoming. It is not really the place for bartering but the prices are so good it didn't matter. Great ladies shoes options if you are size 9 and under. Lovely atmosphere.Written 27 January 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- David BRayong, Thailand9,482 contributionsThis week I am playing host and tour guide to friends from Australia who have not been to Thailand before. I took them to Wat Pa Pradu to show them a typical Thai Buddhist temple.
Wat Pa Pradu traces its origins back to the Auytthaya era but many additions and renovations have been made over the years, including the temple that houses a reclining Buddha, which was built in 1981.
The Buddha, nearly 12 meters long and nearly four meters high, is unusual in that it lies on its left side, as opposed to the usual right side. It is heavily coated with gold leaf, pasted on by generations of the faithful.
Wat Pa Pradu is a complex of temples and buildings and with their rich red and gold colouring and ornate architecture, provide an interesting insight into Thai culture, religion and art.Written 29 June 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews. - David BRayong, Thailand9,482 contributionsIf you are visiting Rayong make sure you take time out to visit Paknam, an ancient fishing community at the mouth of the Rayong River where it empties into the Gulf of Siam.
It is a highly colourful sight to see the traditional fishing boats anchored in the harbour.
If you go earlier enough in the morning (5-6 o'clock) you will see the boats unloading their catches onto the dock, and being taking into the fish markets.
While now there are electricity lines and street lighting, it is not hard to imagine this place as it would have been 200 years ago.Written 27 October 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
