What travellers are saying
- Joline A229 contributionsWe took a private tour from Phuket and this was the most beautiful beach I’ve seen in my life. The white sand, pristine turquoise waters, I was in heaven. There are some areas for snorkeling because the water is so clear. The beach was very clean. We went on a weekday when it wouldn’t be as busy and even at 1pm we were only one of a few people on the beach. It’s perfect for sunbathing and swimming. The water temperature was very pleasant.Written 23 June 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Bhavik MMumbai, India15 contributionsThe climb is pretty strenuous. We took about 1 - 1.5 hrs to reach the top of the trail. The stairs are pretty mismanaged and there are a lot of extremely steep climbs (75 - 80 degrees).
After doing this note that you will not be able to do anything for the rest of the day.
The place closes by 5 and it’s pretty rainy and cloudy most of the time so come anytime you want. It’s nit that crowded most of the time..!!Written 21 June 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - Twan_KerstenSingapore, Singapore82 contributionsMy favorite beach in Thailand. Stunning views, a cave with a vertility temple, rock climbing, monkeys and much more. The best beach.Written 12 April 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.

- rengland024Taipei, Taiwan7 contributionsWas a fabulous way to spend a few hours in Krabi! We booked the day before with one of the tour stands in town, super easy to do.
They picked us up exactly on time from our hotel lobby and there was just one other couple in the spacious van. Got there and immediately had time for feeding the elephants bananas and taking photos. There were three females there at that point.
We followed the guide and elephants down to the main area with the cafe, where we sat and had a chat with the guide to learn more about elephants in general and the elephants at the location. They brought us fresh pineapple and watermelon and waters.
Then it was time for the mud bath, which was good fun - getting messy and smearing mud all over a few of the elephants. Once the mud dried, was time for the elephants to go for a swim so we could bathe them. we all got into the river close by and spent about 20 min or so in the water with the elephants, washing them with brushes. There were only supposed to be 2 elephants with us, but others came and by the end there were 5 elephants and only four of us on the tour! Each elephant had a trainer with them though.
After the bath, more time for hanging out and feeding bananas. We also made the herbal medicine for the elephants from a mixture of leaves, salt, coconut sugar, tamarind, and a little water. We got to feed them their medicine balls too.
All in all, a really cool adventure and lots of hands on time with the elephants. The guide was friendly and knowledgable. Once we were done with the elephants, they treated us to thai iced teas from the cafe and then we got a private ride back to our hotel.
Definitely worth the time and money to go!Written 2 January 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - Annette ACampbelltown, Australia1,628 contributionsGreat island to visit as very pretty and scenic. Lots to do - water sports, swimming or relaxing. Highly recommended and enjoyable.Written 28 June 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- NST NLAmsterdam, The Netherlands29 contributionsThe viewpoint on Railay offers a great view of the beach, the hike is fairly difficult (especially with a hangover) but it's definitely worth it. Very picturesque spot.Written 9 March 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- AngloItalian78Aylesbury, UK318 contributionsWe did a private long boat tour to Hong, Lading and Pak Bia islands directly from our hotel in Tubkaek.
Before landing on the island, we went through a tiny gap in the limestone face of the island to enter an emerald lagoon which was beyond stunning, the water was so green and it was silent there, it really was like paradise.
Arriving early at Hong's beach (probably in the first 20 visitors that day) was a revelation and it felt like we almost had a private island - by the time we left a couple of hours later, it was already super busy. Be aware that the walk from the landing stage to the beach itself is super wobbly...but better than swimming, not least as you will see there are 1000s of beautiful tropical fish in the water, but also 100s of jellyfish too so be careful!
The sandy beach is super soft and we had the pleasure of seeing some huge lizards/dragons as well as lots of tiny sand crabs. It's a nice place to snorkel and swim.
There are also toilets and refreshment stands close by.
There are nature trails to follow.
The best part, however, is the 360 degrees viewpoint...which is NOT for the faint hearted! My wife made it to the first lower platform and let me do the rest! It is over 400 metal steps to the top and each step varies in depth. There are also some wobbly wooden flat parts where you sometimes need to avoid trees and bushes! It takes around 25 minutes to get to the top if you take it at a steady pace with some pauses. I did it in flip-flops which added to the entertainment, if you have trainers, they are to be recommended, as you could go up and down much quicker. There was a 5 minute super shower just before I ascended the steps which also made it more slippy!
However, the blue sky views of the many islands in the Andaman Sea as well as stunning Hong Island itself made it all worthwhile.
Overall, this island is spectacular and a true piece of paradise, but just get there early before the crowds!Written 10 June 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - Richard bThailand7 contributionsThe lagoon hike is something everybody should do. It is real adventure. When finished u have done something epic. You walk through 280 million years of time as you go down to the lagoon. Meet other adventurist people along the way. Good shoes slippery after rain. Have funWritten 28 June 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- AngloItalian78Aylesbury, UK318 contributionsObviously as many others have commented, the beach next to this cave is one of the finest In Thailand and by far the best in this stunning peninsula. But the cave itself is brilliant, full of phallic offerings in all shapes, sizes and colours! Definitely worth seeing for the photo opportunity!Written 18 June 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- MelaniecarenRehovot, Israel225 contributionsAo Nang night market is a nice, clean little market where we found a couple of good meals. The beer is about double the price of beer in the village. There is live music most nights and an area with tables that one can sit and eat or just enjoy the atmosphere. Loved the Thai milk tea and a delicious whole fish grilled with salt. Looks like there is an additional center being built that will increase the size and variety of stores available.I recommend the market for a pleasant place to find a tasty Thai meal/dessert/drink.Written 20 February 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
