It is a place where people who are tired of city life can easily feel comfortable. This place is conveniently located at the transportation hub, which ensures easy accessibility. What’s more, anyone can use this place for free. As there are benches around the lake, you can just sit and relax. There is also Hanbat Arboretum consists of Dongwon and Seowon, which are both perfect place for a walk. There is also a tropical botanical garden, insect ecology museum and a playground for kids in Seowon and they are well maintained. You’ll be able to feel the characteristics of all four seasons of Korea here. Highly recommended!

If you like hot springs and are struggling to find something fun in Daejeon, I highly recommend this place!
I had always been worried when my friends who live in other cities visited Daejeon, as I was never sure where to take them. If you live in Daejeon, you may know what I mean. When I first visited this park, I was like "it looks just like a normal park which is boring and very common in Korea", and then I found this interesting place. The water was really warm and the facilities were nice.
It is located next to the main street(대학로) so it’s easily accessible and the best thing is, it is free!
There is also a free place to wash your feet and an air drying gun to dry your feet too, so you don’t need to bring your own towel.

If you are planning to visit Daejeon O-World, I highly recommend you to visit there Espeacially if you plan to visit wth lovers. This place has a beautiful flower garden, so it's great for taking pictures. There is also a well-kept lake. Around the big lake, there are benches that are good for sitting and relaxing. If you go on a fine day, you can heal in the cool breeze. It would be great for those who want to relax and enjoy the season. There is also a zoo. There was many different kinds of animals than I thought. Perhaps animal lovers won't be disappointed. And There are also rides. However, additional payment is required to use the rides if you only paid for the admission ticket. There is a large parking lot, so it is good to visit with a car. It's not bad to visit even if you have to use public transportation because you don't have a car. This is because there is a public transportation route that runs right in front of the entrance.

Daejeon Museum of art is a good place for you if you want to find a place to see some performances. Last vacation I visited Daejeon Museum of art with my family. The views were amazing, which was worthwhile to see. We took so many photos there. We watched a musical ‘Mamamia’ at there and we all satisfied with it. In the stage a seat was comfortable and temperature was good to watch a show. Staffs were kind and I appreciated with their service. Daejeon Museum of art is great place for walk either. You can walk aroud surrounding of Daejeon Museum of art or can ride a bike. I had a great time at Daejeon Museum of art so I recommend this place to other people.

Hiking is very popular in Korea, and this was a really enjoyable hike. The 74 bus route will get you to the start of the trail, but we decided to take a Taxi from the Daejeon city area which was only 15000 won and took about half an hour (taxis can be booked using the uber app but still run a meter for the fare) From the entrance, it is about 1.5km to the start of the main loop. The main loop is 14.5km long, with distance markers along the way. Local etiquette here is that you walk barefoot on the red clay, which is claimed to have healing properties Stay on the gravel or concrete surface next to the red clay if you prefer to wear shoes. Be sure to refill your water bottle at the start of the trail, whilst there are toilets along the trail, there was only 1 place to get water at the 1.5km mark. The trail is well shaded but hiking in summer can be thirsty work. There are water taps to wash your feet at the start/end of the trail. We were unable to find a taxi for the trip home but only had to wait 15 minutes for the 74 bus at the bus stop near the trail start/end point. This takes about an hour to get back to the main Daejeon station.

It's a nice park near Gapcheon river. Locals ride bike and have a walk or do jogging. Sometimes, we see people picnics or walk their dogs.

Few times a year, they have flower festivals! There are cute cartoon characters. good for picture. Recommended for kids.

This historical park, where a scholar of Confucius lived and taught, is situated on the outskirts of the city, but so easily accessible by public transport. Take the metro to Daedong Station, leave at Exit 7 and catch the 311 Bus. Take the bus for six stops and get out about 100m from the entrance to the park - even if you lose count of the stops, you will see the entrance quite clearly at the top of a hill.

If your transfer between the metro and the bus is within a half hour period, then you only pay the one charge; entrance to the park is free and so this is a bargain morning or afternoon out.

The park itself is quite extensive and includes paths up into the woods and hill but, on this occasion, with the heat and humidity on overdrive, we just opted to take a leisurely wander around the buildings.

This museum was a great way to spend a few hours in the charming city of Daejeon. We visited right at opening and had the whole museum grounds basically to ourselves until 10:00. I found the Natural History and Human Evolution portion of the museum to be excellent and well organized, with all exhibit descriptions offered in both Hangul and English. The Science and Technology portions of the museum were also informative, although fewer exhibit descriptions offered in English, so we stayed in these portions for about 45 minutes (I traveled to Daejeon knowing that it was not a touristy town and do not fault the museum for this whatsoever). Overall a nice excursion if you're looking for something to do in South Korea where not a lot of tourists frequent.

The currency museum features displays on the history of Korean currency and also has currency displays from around the world (even old paper currency from Australia and European countries pre Euro). There are also displays of anti-counterfeiting technology. Most of the exhibit descriptions are in Korean language only, using the camera in a translator app worked well for us, there is free wifi there too. Admission is free

This is a must visit on Autumn, very beautiful place and relaxing, but you mostly noticed that seldom foreigners knew this place, as the driver I hired to bring us there says, we are the first clients he drove there as foreigners because mostly only locals used to come here…

There is a light show in the weekend, and sometimes there is your face recorded and showed in the LED screen of Skyroad. You can find so many cosmetic stores, food stores, and others. The interesting places that I recommend are:
    - Sung Sim Dang (성심당) bakery (from 1956) that has authentic fried bread named Soboro (소보로) filled with red bean paste in yellow paper bag and with butter paste in purple paper bag,
    - Yoogane (유가네) a Korean food restaurant (semi fast food)
    - Farm's Chicken Buffet beside Yoogane in the 2nd floor, where you can eat fried chicken as many as you can, with 8 flavour (from the sweet to spicy), plus rice and soda for only KRW 7,400 (2019). You can replace soda with beer and add KRW 1,500 only. Cheap and delicious!
    - the Artbox with many cute things you can find.

You can reach this place by getting off the train at Jun-gang-no station in Daejeon.

I went to visit the museum with my five-year-old son. The museum has both in-door and out-door exhibition. The in-door displays and exhibitions are very impressive, packed with rock and mineral specimens that tell a lot of story. There are also sections for kids to put their hands on and explore about rocks and minerals, without having to worry about all the equipment because they have them all installed. Kids love them! The displays and exhibitions are very comprehensive, in Korean with some English. It would be nice if you know Korean or have your Korean friend(s) come along. The out door rock garden is even more spectacular if you know some geology. I enjoyed walking from one rock to another seeing fabulous geological features displayed on the rock surfaces. One can also walk through the 4.6-billion-year geological time path and learning about history of the world at the same time. This geological museum is definitely a must-see for all visitors.
