Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What travellers are saying
- Petronella21London, UK94 contributionsIt’s worth doing to get away from the hustle and bustle of Ubud - which is pretty much destroyed by tourism and traffic.
Wear good shoes - and if you want it easy walk North to South as that’s all downhill.
Beautiful temple at the south end!Written 10 February 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Jay J8 contributionsSo for any art lover you must visit this place. You can find something within your budget and stare in awe at the pieces that are out of your budget (like I did!). Multiple rooms split in their different areas of art (modern, fine art, etc). One of the staff walks with you so can answer any questions and also advise on price. You can haggle but only within reason and they may need to go and ask the artist before confirming. What I loved is that when you purchase you have to sign the forms that list the price because they want transparency with the artists. I could have bought so much more but had to restrain myself.
If you thought your staff member helped you - tip them!Written 30 October 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - David OSydney, Australia14 contributionsLots of space. Beautiful setup. Nice and breezy. The service was really good. The food was great. Our timing wasn’t great because we arrived at the same time of two buses full of tourists and we missed our chance of sitting on the bamboo booths on top of the pond.Written 12 August 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Amarjot B3 contributionsProfessional, clean, safe. My therapist Gita took all the knots out my upper back. I feel like a brand new person. I also did the body scrub with yogurt and my skin feels so clean and soft. I really enjoyed and relaxed during my time here.Written 9 February 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Asha SChicago, Illinois, United States26 contributionsI am a painter but I brought my 75 yr old dad, 65yr old mom and sister to the class with zero experience and they LOVED it. Gusti was an amazing teacher. He’s very patient and truly believes in the value of art - we took forever to finish our paintings but he never rushed us. It was the perfect activity to do where you can be together but separate at the same time. Would go back again and do one of his other classes- small paintings or wood carving.Written 9 December 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - JonesIndonesia2 contributionsMy experience at Hars Garden was amazing! On arrival i was greeted by him at the entrance to his Jungle after walking through his organic garden, with his dreadlocks hanging near to the floor and a big healthy organic smile.
Instantly i knew that this was the ideal place for me.
Slowly walking up the steps into my treehouse accommodation trying to take in all the jungle and nature around me.
The treehouse was unreal! So simple so unique! It drops off probably 20m from the balcony into the deep jungle with a river and waterfall at the bottom!
Waking up at 6am with a very slight few strips of sunlight shining through the jungle canopy, it was torrential rain and i had never felt ever before the pure deep form of mother nature like that!
Laying in bed with the large glass windows in front dropping off into the deep wet jungle!
The sounds of running water and birds, frogs, monkeys literally i did not want to leave this moment.
3hours later i finally prized myself out of my trance to start the course.
Breakfast was a huge tray of fruit all from the garden then a main course of salad and ubi (potato) all obviously grown by hars and picked early morning by Hars while i was daydreaming into the jungle haha.
What i learnt from this dude was not just how to grow great organic food but how to live in this world with the ecosystem and not against it, also how to create a ecosystem on my land in Sumbawa that was partly destroyed by corn farming.
His information was golden and his mission in life (to save the ecosystem and work with nature) also to educate the word on how to grow organic food and to work with nature not against it.
Using his own techniques and also others from hundreds of years ago.
Basically he is a all time hero and the course was very beneficial to me and my family to create a new life over in Sumbawa living from the land and working with Nature.
The course was supposed to be 2 days but i booked a extra day in because there was so much i wanted to learn!
Overall i done 3 days 4 nights there, the three hour course a day was not really enough for me to take everything in, ideally i would like to take a week course 8hours a day haha but obviously Hars has a life too and to steal his time that much just wouldn't be fair.
When i left he kindly gave me over 30 different types of herbs and strains that i could bring with me to sumbawa.
Now all i need to do is keep them alive and spread hars knowledge to others who are grownig using monoculture techniques destroying the ecosystem.
Thanks Hars and good luck with your future project in Sumba!

- JoJoShirazWest Lakes, Australia135 contributionsMyself and 10 friends did a morning Market Tour and cooking class at Paon and what an absolute treat it was! We were guided by Wayan and her team to make 7 Balinese Dishes, and were joined by the owner, Puspa, who gave us so much more detail about the Cooking school, the traditions and ingredients we were using to prepare the most delicious dishes from scratch, no packet sauces here!! The event was part of my Birthday celebration and the Paon Team surprised me with a beautiful Birthday Cake to share along with all of our tasty creations. A take home recipe book and suggestions for supplementing ingredients in our home kitchens completed an excellent and fun morning. Highly recommended to learn so much about Balinese cooking and have the privilege of creating and cooking with the always beautiful Balinese people💕Written 12 February 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - TrueNorthBoulder, CO70 contributionsProbably the best massage experience in Ubud.
The therapists are skilled. They give you an authentic Balinese massage. After multiple crummy massages it was such a relief to have a great massage. From the reception to the therapist the experience is great. Even better if you walk there!Written 2 February 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Following an email request Soemantri and the team helped me to track down the artist of a painting that we had seen during a visit to Ubud 3.5 years ago. Not only did they find the artist, but much to my surprise and delight the actual painting was currently available. They then facilitated a negotiation between the artist and I. Once a price was agreed, Titian also facilitated my payment (from the UK) and organised the shipping. I have now received my painting and I could not be happier.
I have been blown away by the courtesy, attentiveness and integrity shown by Soemantri and the Titian team throughout the process. I wholeheartedly recommend this gallery.Written 7 December 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Alison20 contributionsI had the most amazing experience here meeting local women and learning to dance the “welcome dance” which is a traditional Balinese dance. The teacher was so patient, welcoming and had a great sense of humour. She encouraged me to film the dance attempt and I’ve really enjoyed reliving it (although I was far from good!) and showing friends at home. I love dance and what it does for the mind, body and soul and this was a special, authentic experience. Easy to book online, I just did it through messenger. Thank you for the memories and take care 🙏🏻 XxxWritten 14 January 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
