Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What travellers are saying
- balineldaToronto3 contributionsA brilliant art museum for aficionados and non- alike. I had read good news online and decided to check it out. The cashier indicated that I could probably finish in an hour, but after 2, I still felt I was rushing it. The complex consists of several rooms, hallways and a few buildings and art is relatively modern (of the last 100 years). The art is stunning….but what makes the museum particularly special is the detailed description that accompanies each piece, whether imparting information about technique, colour, or more importantly, providing insights into Balinese culture and beliefs. I highly recommend this museum!Written 26 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

- Sam T5 contributionsI prefer Neka Art Gallery but Puri Lukisan gives a very good, manageable selection of Bali's painting schools. Easy to walk around fairly quicklyWritten 9 August 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Kristen777Perth, Australia130 contributionsGood for a short wander whilst in Ubud, some striking art and beautiful architecture, pretty grounds and exotic birds. Not expensive entrance price at IDR 100K so worth it for something different from the Ubud streets.Written 12 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Jay J8 contributionsSo for any art lover you must visit this place. You can find something within your budget and stare in awe at the pieces that are out of your budget (like I did!). Multiple rooms split in their different areas of art (modern, fine art, etc). One of the staff walks with you so can answer any questions and also advise on price. You can haggle but only within reason and they may need to go and ask the artist before confirming. What I loved is that when you purchase you have to sign the forms that list the price because they want transparency with the artists. I could have bought so much more but had to restrain myself.

Parking available, opening hours 7.30am to 10pm daily. They carry a nice selection of fresh fruit, veg along with canned foods, coffee, drinks, wine, snacks and much of what you'd expect to find at your local supermarket back home. You'll find a good range of international products to complement local Bali and Indonesia food and drink brands.Written 12 May 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Sharon OCaloundra, Queensland, Australia38 contributionsI stopped by this shop after noticing it when walking into main area. I was pleased to buy earrings and wooden mementos. Whilst it was more expensive than tourism centre, the quality and uniqueness was just what I was looking for as a memento of my first trip to Ubud.
The owners were very welcoming.

I learned more in two lessons than my 16 weeks in NYC! It is an amazingly beautiful open studio surrounded in natural beauty.Written 28 December 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Journey070182563861 contributionOh my goodness damn gracious. I went with my partner and some friends and we all got the Boreh treatment and we all feel like we've been reborn.
For 550,000 rupiah I had the best 30 minute massage of my life, was scrubbed down with a spicy body scrub that smelt like fruit cake on the massage bed, then was washed down and had my hair washed still on the massaged bed, and i didn't even have to dry myself.
It was wild.Written 29 November 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Gusti was an amazing teacher. He’s very patient and truly believes in the value of art - we took forever to finish our paintings but he never rushed us. It was the perfect activity to do where you can be together but separate at the same time. Would go back again and do one of his other classes- small paintings or wood carving.Written 9 December 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Adam E4 contributionsAstounding, amazing artwork! Blown away by the talent, set up and friendliness. Our taxi driver had stopped here on the way to Ubud centre as I was desperate to see artwork in Bali and it did not disappoint! The sheer talent, time and thought gone into these pieces of work left me speechless - I had never seen hand paintings like these in my life. I had chosen an outstandingly intricate and impeccable piece of traditional Keliki artwork. The front of house/owner was so genuine, talented and welcoming, the piece of artwork I chose happened to be painted by his own very teacher. He took the time to show me around the gallery and explain the story and meaning behind mine and various other paintings. In my opinion the value they set are very reasonable and worth every penny however I did negotiate on the price. I love how they inspire and teach the younger generations to carry on the tradition. If I had any artistic talent in me I would have definitely loved to attend a class. A must go if you're into art! 10/10Written 12 June 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Scott D20 contributionsThis Master Mask Carver’s workshop is very easy to get to from Ubud centre, and is well worth the visit. This gallery contains the work of a multigenerational lineage of master carvers and painters, and the work you will find on the walls here is not what you will see in the tourist markets. Expect to have your mind blown with the intricacy and exquisite detail of everything in the shop. The designs and colour palettes used in this work transcend the normal work you will find around Bali in the more popular shopping markets and offer you a chance to purchase something truly special which touches at the very heart of Bali’s ancient traditions of handicrafts and storytelling. Do not expect to haggle these store keepers down to fractions of the asking price. The work is priced fairly and is of a level that can easily demand a premium, and you are directly supporting the efforts of one of Bali’s celebrated craftsmen and descendants. The women running the store were friendly and helpful, and wrapped our purchases for shopping after we had selected a few small pieces. Photography was not allowed but you will need to see with your own eyes the magic in this little hidden gem of a spot.Written 7 October 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
