Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I prefer Neka Art Gallery but Puri Lukisan gives a very good, manageable selection of Bali's painting schools. Easy to walk around fairly quickly

Good for a short wander whilst in Ubud, some striking art and beautiful architecture, pretty grounds and exotic birds. Not expensive entrance price at IDR 100K so worth it for something different from the Ubud streets.

Well worth the visit. A beautiful museum dedicated to the wood carving master works of Tilem and his father Njana. The museum is in the heart of Mas, a village dedicated to wood carving and presents selected pieces of its two great historical master carvers Ida Bagus Njana and Ida Bagus Tilem. There is also Balinese antiques, paintings and masks on display.

Njana and Tilem, changed the face of Balinese carving. Njana took simple carving lines to a new level and Tilem introduced works using naturally distorted driftwood to express emotion and abstract thought form.

The museum itself has an architectural style reminiscent of the bygone era of Majapahit kingdom.

The second section of the museum is a private collection of the family. A small museum shop is downstairs and if you have time, stay and have lunch. The cafe looks closed, but it is not closed. This museum has not had its official Grand Opening, just a soft opening at this stage. The grounds are huge and there is plenty to do here - so plan a 2 hour stay or more.

I'm not exactly sure how to describe this place. The property is huge and contains the Agung Rai Museum of Art, multiple performance stages, and a large resort. The Museum of Art is in two main buildings, and contains an eclectic collection of traditional and contemporary works of Indonesian art. The property exudes tranquility and harmony with nature. As my guide and I were moving around the property we met a gentleman sitting on a bench and initiated a short conversation. It appeared that he might have been an employee taking a little break ...... but it was Agung Rai himself!!!!!! It was immensely refreshing to see first-hand how involved this man is with his Balinese community and his desire to share it with the world.
