Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I would definitely recommend this to everyone who wants to do a cooking class in Bali.
Really great experience! You really feel like you are experiencing true Balinese culture. Very nice staff and instructor that made sure everyone had a great time.
It may be a bit far away, but you get an authentic cooking class.

This class felt less like a lesson and more like being welcomed into someone’s home to cook together. The instructors shared not just recipes but also personal tips and insights into Balinese traditions. I loved how we used fresh, local ingredients, and the dishes we made were so flavorful. It wasn’t just about the food—it was about the connection to the culture. A truly heartfelt experience.

Good price and worth every penny! 💗

I recently attended a cooking class in Ubud, and it was an absolutely amazing experience! From start to finish, the staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming, making me feel right at home. They were not only knowledgeable but also passionate about sharing their culinary expertise, which made the class even more enjoyable.

The class itself was well-organized and fun, filled with hands-on activities that allowed us to learn about traditional Balinese cooking techniques. I loved every moment, from selecting fresh ingredients at the local market to preparing delicious dishes that we got to enjoy at the end of the session.

I also want to give a shout-out to our driver, who was friendly and punctual, ensuring we arrived at the class with ease. The entire experience was seamless and memorable, thanks to the fantastic team.

If you're looking for a fun and educational cooking class in Ubud, I highly recommend this one! It truly was a highlight of my trip, and I can't wait to try making these dishes at home!

We did the morning market tour, farm tour and cooking class. We had an amazing time and highly recommend it to all travellers in Ubud. The drive out to the market and farm was really nice, travelling through small villages and beautiful countryside. At the market, we learnt about traditional Balinese fruits and vegetables and sampled some local sweet treats. Once we got to the farm we sat down for coffee, fruit and other treats, then we started the farm tour. It was so nice seeing the organic fruit and vegetables being grown and picking our own food to cook with. The teachers were very knowledgeable about all the food, including what we can use as a substitute if we can't find particular ingredients at home. They were also very friendly and funny. After the tour we started the actual cooking. We made around 5 or 6 dishes and all were delicious. We were given excellent explanations and a lot of guidance which was appreciated. My husband and I chose the vegetarian and vegan option, which was no problem at all, we even received a special vegan version of the recipe book to take home. Everything about the day was fantastic, I hope one day I can go back to do an advanced class. I think a cooking class is the best souvenir you can take home from your holiday!

This cooking class with Putu was an amazing experience, and will definitely be a highlight of our trip. Putu and her family are so welcoming, and made us feel at ease from the start. Putu kindly welcomed us into her home and explained her family’s traditional everyday practices in the home, and showed us her garden where she grows all of her own produce. She then lead us through cooking 5 delicious traditional Balinese meals, explaining the ingredients and each step as we went along. We had so much fun and would definitely recommend!

A lovely half day spent in the pouring rain. Though we we’re undercover and very dry. The staff were excellent and very friendly. We cooked some of the best Indonesian food I’ve eaten in Bali so far. A total of six dishes including the back rice pudding with plantain. You felt very welcome and special while you were there. The walk around the garden was very informative and you really got the sense that you have eaten cared for food products. Highly recommended.

Booked this as a surprise birthday present for my wife. Great experience from the visit to the local market to creating the banana leaf offering to learning the basics of Balinese cooking. A good 2-3 hour experience which ends with you eating the spread you spent time cooking.

We've traveled the world, taking a good number of cooking classes in different countries. This class was by far the best we've experienced! We learned so much about their cooperative farming effort, and we even harvested some of our ingredients! Our team of instructors and support folks were very enthusiastic! They were delightful and affirming of everyone in our group at every stage of the meal prep! This was a fun and energetic celebration of Balinese food and culture!

My family (11 people total) went to Dewa's home for a cooking class and it was the highlight of our trip! I enjoyed the food and his home and doing an activity together. However, the car ride to and from the house with Dewa was the most impactful. Dewa shared a bit about his philosophy on life and it was just so refreshing.

We thoroughly enjoyed our cooking class with romantic candlelight dinner. We first went to spend time in a Balinese family home and learned more about the culture while enjoying a snack and coffee. Next we walked to the farm and cooking area and learned about the produce they grow. Our amazing host/chef Ron helped us to cook a delicious 6 course meal. Ron was a great host, so friendly and a great sense of humour. Highly recommend Lusang cooking class!

Our guide Kadek Darma was fabulous; punctual, informative and could not do enough to assist us. Kadek Took us to the cooking class first, which was fabulous. It was very well run and the food was yummy. We also got to see a Balinese temple And waterfall, we didn’t have to worry about a thing for the day. I would highly recommend!
