What travellers are saying
- Carolina Z1 contributionOutstanding place to came and be delightful with a very traditional arquitectura with open spaces and very nice boutiques, on the last floor (3th) you can chose from a diversity of very good restaurants and very kind with your wallet, hands down the best place to eat in town. Must see and enjoy.Written 22 February 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Alessandra RBogota, Colombia137 contributionsGood structure with main restaurantes from Colombia. 3-4 floors with different stores. It also has a cinema. It’s located by the Hyatt hotel and 5 min from Muelle de la BodeguitaWritten 28 April 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- alivisor11 contributionsI'm mainly leaving this review to reassure people who are paranoid about visiting this place that it isn't really much different from any other wet market around the world. It's not a maze, it's not filled with ruffians looking to mug you, it's just a local market that sells all the usual stuff you'd expect - cheap knock-off clothes, random knick-knacks that fell off the back of a truck, caged birds, cleaning products, oil, fruits, vegetables, fish and meat. It's busy and bustling, and the seafood section smells exactly like you'd expect it to. You can walk here from the old town - either along the waterfront, which is quieter and where there is more visible poverty, or along the main road where the buses run and you can probably grab an arepa to nibble along the way.
Example of a fun thing you might notice here is the guys buying a bag of mora berries from the fruit vendor, then setting up a juice stall where they mix small amounts with a bit of ice, milk and sugar and sell it at a mark-up. The free market in action!
It's a neat place to walk around if you like markets, but if you plan on buying fruit keep in mind what's in season - it's easy to get caught up in the moment and pick up something that isn't really in great shape for the price. To be honest it isn't all that different from what you'll find from the fruit vendors dotted around the rest of town, but there is perhaps something just a bit more fun about being in the heart of the action when you pick out your wares.Written 25 February 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - GFEricUtah34 contributionsHow do you write a review on a shopping mall? It's a mall, pretty much like one I'd find at home in the United States, except everything is in Spanish. Most shops here seem to be upper-end, but there's also plenty here that's reasonably priced, and the food selection seems pretty good. This mall isn't a destination in itself (is any mall?), but it's worth a look if you're walking by.Written 5 September 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- emb08090Philadelphia, PA13 contributionsWe poked our head into this shop after seeing some of the artwork displayed outside, and wound up buying our first piece of art! Several of the artists work on site, and we were able to get a photo with the man who painted our particular painting. Compared to the United States, I felt like a lot of the art on sale here was an excellent bargain, they clearly have some really talented artists.
They offered to package it for us, which they accomplished by removing the canvas from the frame and rolling it into a rigid tube. I was super nervous about this, as I was certain that the acrylic paint would crack when rolled, but it's currently hanging in our living room and looks great! The surrounding area of Getsemani has a lot of beautiful graffiti and local culture, so if you find yourself in the area, I'd highly recommend a visit.Written 30 March 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - Traveler98Seattle, WA341 contributionsA treasure bit off the beaten tourist path. Use a mapping solution to get to the store only about a 10 minute walk from the main tourist area. They advertise a wide variety of door knockers. Unfortunately, when we got there, all the designs we were seeking were sold out. No matter, found another treasure PLUS we had a great walk through a variety of neighborhoods to get there.Written 22 April 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- jst1313Brussels, Belgium79 contributionsVery nice shopping center (similar to the one we visited in Barranquilla), lots of women's shoes (heels of all kinds) and great for men's shirts (Renzo is one of my favourites).
It is a bit outside the historic Cartagena, but you get to see how the people really live, and it is not as polished as some think when they see the historic city center or the fancy Bocagrande area.Written 23 April 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - Bo NOslo, Norway40 contributionsA shoppingcenter with ATM and a few shops, not much interesting. 6 choices of fast food at 3.floor. I ate here 5-6 times during my stay. Ok food for a reasonable price. Contains cinema and casino.Written 4 November 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- UgnÄ— J1 contributionIt was a nice visit, beautiful art, however, it took us like 30 minutes to walk around. They have some spectacular art that they are selling and its really worth a visit.Written 7 June 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- 2AnikoBudapest, Hungary11 contributionsit is occupied mainly by the John Valdez cafe. There is only one or two shop(s). These were closed when I was there, perhaps they are open in the afternoon.Written 16 February 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Shiracheryl MTirat Carmel, Israel513 contributionsThese women will sell what seemed to be TIGO SIM cards.
When mine didn’t work, I took it to the center of TIGO there they told me it was someone else’s Sim card and it was filled with data.
Today I returned to confront them. I didn’t expect to get my money back, but I wanted him to know that they committed fraud. I took out my camera and told him I was going to photograph them and put their pictures on trip advisor. They proceeded to attack me and try to grab my cell phone out of my hand. They said they were going to call the police. I have to say that they have a lot of cool items in this place. I purchased a couple wood sculptures that I have never seen before. The painting combined with the carvings is amazing. They had about 5 left and then some other wood items. Check this place out. Yes it is in the tourist area and they get you on pricing but they did give me 5% for credit card purchase and if you pay cash they will give you 10%... Great shopping experience. I have photos but they are on my phone. I will see if I can load them here.Written 3 March 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
