What travellers are saying
- MelsikaLondon31 contributionsMy partner and I had a very pleasant afternoon here. It’s nice to potter around, but nothing spectacular. Facilities wise, there’s a cafe with a small selection in the middle of the circular route. There are plenty of loos available throughout .
The hothouse was closed- probably due to Covid, it looked very small from the outside. The zip line is closed, this looked permanent (& fairly dangerous). We saw some nice wildlife and it was very relaxing.Written 1 March 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - Doug MWasaga Beach, Canada618 contributionsAnother great photo op the view from here is great also every were you look in this city there is a breath taking view it is totally amazingWritten 2 December 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Kenneth CLapeer, MI45 contributionsThere are only two REAL Moai outside of the Easter Islands--one that is in dispute that was stolen and is now on display in the British Museum in London and this Moai in Vina del Mar, Chile.
Don't miss an opportunity to see a REAL Moai!Written 27 February 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - Eva K9 contributionsit´s a pretty plaza and the flower clock worth to visit for some pictures , it´s an iconic attraction from Viña de MarWritten 16 December 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- GoGo2SlowGoDenton, TX1,527 contributionsThere were quite a few wealthy people living in Vina del Mar at the beginning of the 20th century. Gustavo Wulff was a very successful trador both in saltpeter and coal. He migrated to Chile in 1881 and made his fortune. He was from Germany and he wanted his own castle. He hired an architect to do so. It went through several additions even including a bridge between towers. When Herr Wulff died, his daughter made some additional changes after World War II. She used the same architect to do so.
The government eventually acquired the property and in 1995, it was pronounced a National Historical Monument by Chilean Law.
There is a small museum there now which probably is not worth your time. This is a very nice photo opportunity though!Written 19 February 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - C-B6 contributionsThe restoration of this century old building is commendable. We did not get to see much. What we saw, nice.Written 18 February 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Ross HWarwick, Australia2,101 contributionsNo casinos in Santiago city. The casinos are in municipalities around the city to share the ‘revenue’ . Typical casino once insideWritten 12 April 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Ken GToronto, Canada15 contributionsWe went to Museo Fonck to see the Moai that was standing there in front. We were then pleasantly surprised by the rest of the museum. Then it was a shortish walk to the ocean for a nice lunch with a view.Written 28 March 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Juan SSantiago, Chile18 contributionsThe place has a park that is very nice with some phrases from Neruda and Mistral.
The castle is very nice howecer the Quinta Verga is not was I expected (as seen on tv) but in general was ok.Written 12 January 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - Tom DPlano Texas123 contributionsVery popular on weekends so expect a crowd walking the sidewalks. As of Oct 2021 work is being done on the sea wall so only about half the avenue is open. This makes it even more crowded and even less parking.Written 8 November 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Sachin KPlainview, NY5,842 contributionsCostanera is an interesting road which runs along the coast of Viña Del Mar, thus allowing for some great scenic views of the Pacific Ocean on one side and several interesting buildings on the other. Certainly would recommend traveling on this road to any tourist.Written 30 January 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Johanna R3 contributionsGreat for families, you can rent pool lounge chairs and umbrella's for $1.000 pesos each to use all day. Food is good but service is slow.Written 27 December 2015This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Jacquie FNiagara Falls, Canada186 contributionsWe literally stumbled upon this ampitheatre while strolling through a shopping area, then park. Within the park is the theatre. In the park is a castle currently undergoing renos. The Theatre is really large and well laid out. All bench seating and apparently it has held countless 'big name' concerts. All the big Latin musicians have played here and I believe I just missed the Music festival (Feb 2017?) At any rate, it's nice to see but I'm sure with music it would have been spectacular.Written 26 January 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Ari TSeattle, WA67 contributionsinteresting crane structure on a pier that is worth a walk down if yo're making your way to the beach or just exploringWritten 22 January 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Ari TSeattle, WA67 contributionsmassive, long beach with a cool pier at the start, if youre just looking to lie in the sun or play in the waves its a great place to have a beach day, if crowded in the high seasonWritten 22 January 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
