Many attractions are listed as "must sees" but are not worth the time effort and energy.

This is NOIT one of those. You HAVE to walk the walls!
    TIPS:
go early or late to avoid crowds
go on days when cruise ships are NOT docking
    get a guide
end the walk with a decent dinner at Debravka Restaurant at the entrance

don't rush....the energy of the buzstling crowds is bound to get you rushingaround.
Step back and spend a few hours soaking in the entire town....the meandering narrow alleys, the old old bioldings and marvel at the construction that has stood the test of centuries.

We went to this island by boat from the harbour .cost 200 kuna each.Boat trip was about ten minutes but it had great views from the sea of Dubrovnik. The ticket includes entry to the nature reserve.lots of boats to/ bk from island …last one departs at 8pm.We arrived at 2 and left at six and saw most of the things on the island but you could spend a whole day. There are lots of shady areas so bring a picnic/ food and drink.Food is very expensive on the island (90 kuna for ham sandwich), cocktails 90 kuna. There are hundreds of peacocks with their little pea chicks( so cute). There is a great cove ( the Dead Sea pool) which is a natural sea water pool surrounded by rock, next to a small cocktail/ ice cream bar;take water shoes as rocks are slimes and a few fish/ shrimp in the water .Also a great Rocky coastline for sunbathing .There is an interesting monastery with great free exhibits and the original game of thrones chair ( HBO). there is also a lovely botanical garden with beautiful plants, butterflies, big beetles and bees (lovely nature). there is a small childrens playground and sun longers.it’s a gorgeous island and shouldn’t be missed .Restful and interesting day

We had intended to do the walls of Dubrovnik but felt the 250kn entry per person was just too steep, so we thought the Fort was a good alternative. Entry here is not cheap either, 100kn per person and there is literally no information anywhere in the fort. Some A4 description pages around the place would have made a big difference and would be inexpensive. The views throughout the Fort were stunning, with some wonderful views over Dubrovnik. An enjoyable way to spend time

If you take the walking path up the hill, there are many stops with great views over the old town and surrounding seaside.

Great views, short queue, reasonable price (Given the alternative of a taxi or walking!). Would recommend.

Wide road that is the spine of old city. Lots of tourist shops and tourists! If you are staying in Dubrovnik try and visit before 20 or after 4 to avoid the most busy period, when the cruise ships are in

Historic building. Take time to look at the architecture, in particular the workings of the drawbridge
One of the main entrances to the city
Only reason not 5/5 is that it is so busy!

Great location for visiting Dubrovnik and accessing ferry to islands. We enjoyed a walk around Lapad Bay stopping off at Copacabana beach and Cave Bar along the way.

The exhibit was locked up (perhaps still closed for covid) but it was 100% worth the very sort walk up from the busy beachfront for the contrast of the calm of the park it’s set in and to see the chickens wandering about

When you only have a limited about of time, sometimes you have do make tradeoffs. One tradeoff for us was visiting the three main Elafiti islands (Kolocep, Lopud, Sipan) as a long day trip on a boat. Each island is somewhat different from the other, but they're all beautiful in their own way. For us, we would have spent more time on Kolocep.

We managed to swim at each stop and, as usual in Croatia, the water is just beautiful. There were places we could swim and sunbathe nude on each of the three islands, which was very nice.

Žarkovica is home to hundreds of dogs that have been either found on the streets of Croatia or abandoned by their owners. All the dogs we saw were happy and given the best possible care with their minimal resources they have. If you are an animal lover and in the area please visit žarkovica and help out by walking some dogs. It is a lovely way to spend a day and you will leave with a smile. A lot of people think they will be too sad seeing all of the dogs but that has never been the case when we visited.

The shelter is run by two volunteers Sandra and Tomo who have devoted their lives to saving these poor dogs' lives. They work 7 days a week all year round with no days off. They work in the blistering heat and in the snow often with no help whatsoever. The work they do is incredible and I don't know how they keep going day in day out.

The locals seem to have mixed feelings about Žarkovica and think that the dogs are treated poorly. But as soon as you step foot in Žarkovica you will see the love Sandra and Tomo have for these animals. They provide as much as they can with extremely limited resources. What they need is more help from the government and from the local community. Instead they get bad mouthed by people who have heard stories about the shelter but have never set foot there.

If you are an animal lover I would urge you to visit Žarkovica to help out, and if you are looking for a new dog in your home please consider the lovely dogs at Žarkovica.

Between pleasant Vela Luka and open-air museum Korcula are many country side locations surrounded by grapevine areas.

This beach is absolutely picture perfect. Golf buggies are a little hard to find - we decided to start walking from the port following Google maps when we saw a sign for them about 10 minutes into our walk. It was 20kn per person which was well worth it besides walking in the very warm sun. Bars and restaurants on the beach were brilliant. The company running the sun beds were friendly and reasonably priced. Only thing that was a little annoying was a charge to shower - 50kn for 30 seconds. The cost wasn’t an issue it was more the bother if digging in a bag for change or annoying waitresses to change your notes. But other than that a fantastic day out.
