What travellers are saying
- Life2TravelCharlotte, NC1,971 contributionsWe were fortunate to visit the palace as part of a walking tour in Split. The palace and surrounding area is large and having a guide was very helpful understanding the history of the palace and its people. You miss out on so much history just wandering around and looking on your own. Some of the palace has now been converted into shops and is very touristy but you shouldn't miss it if in Split.Written 13 January 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Life2TravelCharlotte, NC1,971 contributionsThis was one of our stops on a tuk tuk tour, beautiful park, high above the city. We enjoyed the panoramic views of the old town and the marina during a beautiful sunny day. Gives you a whole different perspective of the city from above.Written 13 January 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - cjeh2016Leicester, UK26 contributionsOnly spent a day in Split unfortunately but wished we had spent longer. A busy city with lots to do. The winding alleyways and squares added to the charm of the old town. Some nice gift shops with ice cream parlours and art galleries. Very enjoyable first visit and hope to go again to do more cultural activitiesWritten 26 October 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Life2TravelCharlotte, NC1,971 contributionsOur tuk tuk driver after our tour of Split offered to take up to Klis Fortress. We were out on the highway, so I was happy we had seatbelts. It was about a 20minute ride from Split. This is such an impressive fortress perched in the valley on the hill and even more impressive up close. We wandered through the fort on our own, much of it intact. Some scenes from Game of Thrones were filmed here. It was not crowded at all, and it was nice to walk around without all the crowds like in Split. There are inclines, rocks and stairways, not a place if you are mobility challenged but worth the visit.Written 13 January 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Life2TravelCharlotte, NC1,971 contributionsThis was a beautiful impressive cathedral, still active today. There are several admission options depending on what you want to see including the cathedral, the bell tower (lots of stairs), the crypt and the treasury. Worth a stop while you are in Split.Written 13 January 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- andreas p1 contributionThe gallery offers an excellent experience, combining impeccable service with a carefully curated collection of artworks. The space is elegant and well-organized, allowing visitors to enjoy the exhibits in a peaceful setting. The staff is friendly and eager to provide insights into the artworks, adding depth to the visit. Overall, it is a gallery worth visiting, both for the quality of the exhibits and the warm atmosphere.Written 6 March 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - DarconLondon, UK311 contributionsDiocletian's Palace is well preserved and easily accessible with it being a short walk from the main promenade on splits coast.

There is a bustling open air market on the other side of the street. The harbor was packed with ships of all sizes, some docked 4 to 5 wide on a dock. We picked up our boat here for a week long e-bike tour of the Croatian Islands which by the looks of it has become a big business in Croatia.Written 13 January 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Linda S1 contributionThe museum is small but it was good.
I'm not sure it was worth E14.50 each though.

It was the night before the last tour of the year so we were lucky enough to be alone with the owners. They were amazing, nice, caring and super friendly. We felt very confortable. They answered all of our questions, shared all of their family history, but also took the time to explain what their country has been through in the last decades. Very interesting! Food was great, wine was excellent. I liked being able to taste directly from tanks and choose my favorite wine for the sit-down. Olive oil was as excellent as the wine was. I really recommend this tour!!Written 13 November 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
