Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

- Dmytro SkorokhodKyiv, Ukraine240 contributionsStarting from 2023, it is allowed to climb the bell tower of the monastery. From there you can enjoy fantastic views of both banks of the Dnieper.
And do not forget to visit the treasury, where you will see a copy of the legendary Scythian pectoral and other treasures of peoples who inhabited Ukraine in different eras: Scythians, ancient Greeks, Crimean Tatars and Ukrainians.Written 11 January 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Constructed in the 11th century, it stands as one of the oldest and most well-preserved churches in Ukraine.
The cathedral was built under the rule of Yaroslav the Wise, a prominent figure in Ukrainian history, and it served as the center of Kyivan Rus' religious and political life. Its architecture is characterized by its thirteen domes, intricate mosaics, and frescoes. The interior is adorned with beautiful Byzantine artwork, including the famous frescoes depicting biblical scenes and saints.
In addition to its architectural significance, St. Sophia Cathedral holds great cultural and historical.Written 18 April 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The Motherland Monument towers over the city and really is a symbol of independence / resistance that many Ukrainians are proud of.
The park around the monument of free of charge to walk around and is very well kept. There are also a number of tanks on display , and for a small fee you can pay to visit the WWII museum next to the park. I am told the museum is very interesting but was closed during our visit due to the air raid siren going off.Written 22 May 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - dgjohanssonRonneby, Sweden1,637 contributionsThis museum is right under the Motherland statue. The main focus of the museum is WWII, but the first part you will see is the exhibition about the current conflict in Eastern Ukraine. It provides an interesting introduction to the ongoing war with Russian separatists but is, as expected since it is ongoing, a bit sided towards the Ukraine version of history. The WWII museum contains the same setup as any other WWII Soviet-era museum with nicely displayed dioramas and lots of material to both read and to look at. Their photo policy were a bit strange. Private camera and/or video camera was each a seperat entrance fee, but taking photos and/or movies with your mobile phone was free. No backpacks in the museum, but there are free lockers and a manned wardrobe service in the basement.Written 13 November 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - LarmettovichKyiv, Ukraine170 contributionsArsenalna metro is, of course, famous for being the deepest metro station in Europe or maybe the world. It takes a full five minutes to descend, or ascend, the escalators.
But the latest news is that the whole square around the station building has been spruced up. New fountains have been installed (and damaged the day after opening by a delivery truck carrying - bottled water).
The old military buildings, which were disused and needed substantial repairs, have been converted into a popular ribs restaurant, and a new branch of McDonald's has opened.
Arsenalna, with the other restored buildings across the street, including the Kyiv Food Market, has/will become a new gastonomic destination for Kyiv diners.Written 13 September 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
