She was so considerate about mobility issues and bathroom breaks. She was very clear about when and where to meet at each stop. The stops were all so interesting. - Daire A7 contributionsAn incredibly poignant trip. Our tour guide Eryup (more than likely got the spelling of his name wrong so apologies) gave a very detailed and passionate breakdown of the events. It’s hard to put into words the sense you feel when you see the area first hand.

He was very dedicated and passionate. The tour runs very well with own time own pace, no rush kinda. Places we went were all very enlightening. Especially the fortresses. Also, the watermills were very healing. The stop by to pray and check out the history at the colourful mosque in Travnik was interesting and another healing kinda.

She was a very informative and engaging guide, and gave us a really good overview of the history of Sarajevo. Just the two of us on our tour, and we came away feeling we had a much better understanding of this beautiful city. - gailnurse2015Lincoln, UK45 contributionsI saw that this tour had excellent reviews but I was not prepared for just how good it was. Our guide Mak made the story of the siege come alive with his knowledge of history and current politics, and his personal testimony.
We visited many key areas of the city where we had full explanations of the significance of each place - seeing the Tunnel of Hope, sniper alley, and Serb sniper positions amongst others. I was really shocked at the very obvious difference in East Sarajevo - it was very clear unity wasn’t welcome.
Meeting instructions were given in full and the drive felt very safe at all times - despite Sarajevo road bungee jumping!
Mak’s own story and family history is heartbreaking, not made any easier by the current political situation in BiH.
I would thoroughly recommend this tour to gain an understanding of the siege, to remind those of us who have grown up in peace how lucky we are, and to make sure the memory of those killed or left with trauma in any form are not forgotten.

We were picked up by Elvira, our guide and driver, she was a superstar. Our guide, Alan, was excellent, providing not only a wealth of knowledge but also a personal touch that made the narrative deeply compelling. I came away feeling inspired by the extraordinary stories of courage and resilience during a time of unimaginable hardship.
The service from Meet Bosnia Tours was impeccable, and I highly recommend the agency to anyone visiting Sarajevo. I felt totally safe and found the balance between his explanation about the history of the Balkans and the recent conflict alongside his sense of humour really refreshing. - iowacityiaiowa city, ia2,694 contributionsMy wife and I were on the 9am tour. Our meeting point was at the Funky Tours office, about a 2 minute walk from our hotel. There we met Amela. We had a very nice visit with her while we waited for 2 others that would be on the tour with us, and the guide. We all met minutes later. Harm was our guide for the day. Let me just say that he was a great guide, and driver. We were driven around in a comfy van, with good visibility out the windows. We visited the tunnel of hope first. Harm was our own personal guide too. From there we drove to the Tito bunker. We arrived right at noon, and began the tour immediately. After that we started our drive back to Sarajevo, with a quick lunch break snack. Then a drive to the Olympic ski jumps, and then on to the medal presentation stand at the base of the ski jump area. All of this was super cool. And the drive from Sarajevo proper, to the ski jumps was quite lovely. Along the Way we could make stops for pictures. From there it was off to the bobsled track. Another fun drive to get there. Harm dropped us off at a cool section of the track, then offered to us that we could walk downhill a ways, on the track, and meet him and the van at that point. A fun walk, and very scenic. Heading back down in to Sarajevo we made a stop at the abandoned Olympic hotel, and an abandoned restaurant, perched above the city, used and destroyed in the war. We were then dropped off in town, walking distance to our pickup point. This was a full day of touring. I think we got back between 5-6pm. We loved this tour, and I would do it again if I had the chance. We ent the Dubrovnik to Sarajevo direction with Dina and had a full and wonderful day. Dina was an excellent guide- personable and also had a very good sense of what time to allocate to organized and free time and also between explaining and providing space to learn and explore on our own and meet back with questions. The history and significance of the sites and country were clearly and thoroughly communicated.
